Keep making that weak "guns don't kill" argument and keep losing the debate.

Matter of fact, next time you go buy a gun ask for one that won't kill.

It's a weak and lazy argument that's easily picked apart by the people who want to ban guns. The onus is on them to show some logical reason why you shouldn't have a weapon with the capability to kill.

A prime example^^ of a weak and lazy argument. The liberal will just respond with "but cars weren't designed to kill", and they would be absolutely right.

Firearms were designed to kill. That IS the entire point of owning one. No one goes to the gun store and asks for a gun that won't kill someone.

By showing the difference between murder and justifiable homicide you force the anti gunners to defend why you shouldn't own that something that will allow you to kill.

So you are trying to get an anti gun person to become somewhat ambivalent about guns? Gotcha!

I don't bother.

The problem is that you're addressing a bunch of emotional people rationally.

All you're going to get in return is monkeys flinging poo.

The problem isn't the guns, we've had those for a long time, the fundamental problem is that we are a culture that is entertained by murderous violence - such that now we are saturated with it on a daily basis. When you confront anti-gun folks on whether or not guns should be legal, the Constitution is the only answer. Whether or not guns or people kill people is fighting on their ground from the start.

But guns don’t kill people. They’re only a tool. You’re making the same argument as I am, but in a different way. You’re still pointing the blame to the person wielding the gun, only conceding to them that guns kill people.

That’s not their intended purpose 99.9% of the time. I can kill someone with a ball peen hammer, but that’s not its intended use. Even though it is very efficient for the purpose, just like the gun.

I don't have an issue with the constitutional argument, I use it all the time myself.

I get what people are trying to convey when they say "guns don't kill". They're speaking of not being able to kill someone without a human acting upon the object. That argument is ripe to be picked apart by the anti gun crowd because the fact of the matter is the gun itself was designed to kill.

By acknowledging the fact that guns are designed to kill, and killing can and is completely legal, you're forcing them to defend why killing someone justifiably shouldn't be legal. What's their rebuttal going to be? That you shouldn't have the right to own an object that will kill in self defense?

I get what you're saying though. Liberals are emotional creatures who aren't moved by logic but it's still important for use to make logical arguments.

I own guns for the purpose of killing something. Every gun I own was designed to kill something, otherwise it would be useless. Whether or not I act upon the object and use it to kill someone doesn't change the fact that it was designed to kill someone.
