Question about the Founding Fathers and the Constitution

So, I'm watching a video by Simon Whistler about myths re: the founding fathers.
First, I noted that 4 of his 10 myths regarded Lincoln. I had no idea that British people consider Lincoln a founding father.
But he did raise an interesting issue.
The founders would have made changing the constitution much easier if they had known that Americans attached so much unreasonable sanctity to the document.
As most of you know we have the oldest constitution in the world. And it ain't close.
So, how would you change it? Some ideas:
a. Amendments by majority vote of Congress and passed by President (like a bill).
b. The aforementioned plus ratification by majority of states... 26 states.
c. Rip it up and hold a new convention.

frick no.
Current system is good. The Constitution needs to be a complete bitch to amend. Look at state constitutions, Louisiana's, is a good example. Amended so many damn times, thing is a fricking mess.

As far as I know, our constitution is one of, or maybe the only, constitution that lays out what the government is not allowed to do rather than what rights citizens are granted under it

so you want to make it easier to change the document that has made us the worlds lone true superpower both military and economy wise and has providerd the highest standard of living the world has ever scene?
Wha tkind of fricked up world do you live in? Our rights and the founding principles of our country shouldnt change with the wind. IF anything we need to change a few amendments, take more power from the federal govenement and make it almost impossible to change from that point foward. Let the majority of laws be at the state and local level and let them compete for todays highly agile population.

The USA has been the most powerful country for a very long time, and we are thinking of changing the very document that set this train in motion?

Not me. This is the position of a British history guy who claims the founders had no idea that future Americans would become so status quo oriented. We haven't changed with the times.
Example: La. is the size of a lot of small nations. La. has had about 20 constitutions. When we get to 'Amendment no. 2,341' we scrap it and start over.
He says the reason the US doesn't change it is because we think of the founders as God-like people who were way smarter than we are.

Are you suggesting Louisiana is a good example of what a Constitution should be like?

Why does it need to be changed?
The only people wanting it changed want to take away freedoms and give the government control.

No. I'm presenting the position of Simon Whistler. Not my position. Hell, in my OP I said the guy thinks Lincoln was a founding father. I know he's not American but I bet that if you asked US high school students: 'Was Abraham Lincoln a founding father?' at least half of them would say 'yes.'

Sounds like that Brit has a chip on his shoulder about 1776.

Well, in a previous critique of America's stupidity he said:
"Almost a third of Americans believe that the media just makes things up."

I love when people attribute intentions to the Founding Fathers that are in reality their own. If the FFs intended for this to be the case, then they would've written it as such. No. This is just some Whistler's own desire that he pretends to be that of the Founders.

Don't listen to a Brit lecture us about our Constitution. Remember, it was their arse that we kicked to get our independence.
The Founding Fathers knew what they were doing. Making it too easy to make amendments would make the national constitution about as effective as the Louisiana state constitution, which is a pile of shite.
The fact that it has only needed to be amended 17 times in nearly 240 years (not including the Bill of Rights) is a testament to the genius of the Founding Fathers and the effectiveness of the document.
