The movement has no apparent party structure or central organization, yet it appears stronger than any third party. The community doesn’t appear to have a candidate recruitment strategy but fielded dozens of federal and state candidates in over half of U.S. states this cycle.

Research paid for by Media Matters.

Rogers, the four-time loser, has raised nearly $2.5 million this cycle, more than virtually any other statewide Arizona candidate.

Consider Edward Durr, a New Jersey State Senate candidate who attracted little notice during the state’s 2021 elections. A commercial truck driver, he tweeted in 2020 using the QAnon acronym WWG1WGA.

Federal candidates associated with QAnon have raised nearly $25 million in the last two election cycles. Most of the total came from small-dollar donations, according to a Grid analysis of FEC records, signaling grassroots support for the candidates’ messages.

The vast majority of the donations — about $17 million — went to Greene and Boebert.

Facebook announced a ban on all QAnon accounts, although it was reportedly not swift in implementing the measure. Following the Capitol attack, Twitter suspended tens of thousands of QAnon-related accounts. By spring of 2021, Twitter said it had suspended some 150,000 accounts for tweeting QAnon misinformation.

Many expected the crackdowns to disperse the Q communities that congregated on those platforms. Instead, the communities moved to alternative platforms with light content moderation, like Telegram

The political implications of this group — some 50 million people, a size that Jackson said was equivalent in size to the U.S. white evangelical population.

some 50 million people,

Today's GOP is made up of 2 main groups: The America First MAGA Trump Republicans and traditional conservatives. This is just Media Matters attempt to rebrand the America First group as crazy QAnon conspiracy theorist. I'm sure there are some QAnon believers in that group, but nowhere near 50 MM.

Is horse shite and a product of media gaslighting. I'd advise staying away from any MSM coverage.

What is the real distinction you think you’re making when you say “there is Q and there are anons but there is no QAnon”?

I'll quote myself from yesterday, since I don't feel like typing it out again:

quote:

"Qanon is embarrassing this country. "

If it weren't for the fact that 'Qanon' is a media-constructed boogeyman to blame everything they can't otherwise explain as they lose control of the narratives they've mandated for decades... They've lumped every wacko conspiracy into a single banner, and trot it out whenever they need to keep folks from digging too deep.

If you actually read what Q posted, you might find yourself surprised at what's said. More interestingly, you might find yourself surprised at what's NOT said.

Spoiler Alert: No mention of reptilian superbeings overlords, no adrenochrome. The word "Illuminati" only comes up once, and JFK Jr. is doornail dead.

'Qanon' is the label they slap on everything in the hopes that it scares folks who still believe their nightly news has credibility.

Well you got that right. I am surprised by what some loser in his mom's basement can construct.

Tell who what? That Q is a ridiculous LARP/psyop and it’s message draws some seriously misguided and delusional people who are immersed in fantasy?

95% of people believe the government is fricking corrupt at every level and want to believe that it can be reset to constitutional principles.

The conservatives started the mental illness trend. I just figured the Democrats picked it up in retaliation. Now they’re all mentally ill. There’s no sane party anymore, if there ever was to begin with.
