Biden's election year challenge: Blame GOP for nation's woes
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden has an election-year message for frustrated voters: At least he's trying.
For those who think he isn't doing enough to help Ukraine fend off the Russian invasion, Biden announced $800 million in new military support on Thursday. To ease the pain of high gas prices, he's tapped the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and reopened onshore sales of oil and natural gas leases on public land. And to address historic inflation, Biden has tried to smooth out supply chain-crimping bottlenecks at the nation’s ports.
The president hopes the moves, which are being announced in near-daily rollouts and in a stepped up travel schedule, will present a contrast with Republicans — who, he argues, spend more time complaining about problems than proposing solutions.
“I mean this sincerely — name me something the national Republican Party is for,” Biden said at a recent Democratic National Committee meeting.
But it's not clear he's attracting much support. A new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds just 45% of Americans approve and 54% disapprove of how Biden is handling the presidency. The approval rate in the poll taken from April 14-18 is about the same as last month, but down from the president’s 63% approval rating a year ago.
There are bright spots for Biden. Applications for unemployment benefits have fallen to the lowest levels in decades and wages are rising. The economy is growing after the pandemic-induced doldrums.

If the AP poll says 45% support 'Tater, it's actually around 22.5%.

I especially love it when they always double down on those moves and tactics that put them in this position to begin with. As is the exact case here. They got the big brains.

Brandon is sending weapons to Ukraine that are paid for with our tax dollars and has no clue about where they actually end up. He has tapped the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and sending a large portion of the reserve to Europe. These actions are a display of his incompetence.

This is his administration in a nutshell. Trump would have already had this shite done.

Earlier this week I read the greatest narrative ever about why Biden is failing. Goes like this:
Biden is too concerned with public opinion that does not include his constituency that got him elected. He's concentrating on things like inflation and the economy when the REAL CONCERN of his followers has nothing to do with that.
Our No. 1 concern is SAVING DEMOCRACY by protecting the right of everyone to vote. Making it easier to register, easier to vote by mail. Stopping the gerrymandering by the the GOP. Our democracy is at stake and that's a higher priority than the economy.

Thought about this when Ukrainians coming to the US are fully vetted capable workers with skills to offer. Most speak English. They are Covid vaccinated as well.
In the mean time, over 8,000 unvaccinated, non vetted are allowed to enter unchallenged.
The Federal Government doesn't bother to include over 8,000 a day as unemployed, nor count toward the percentage? Just give them handouts and let them live off the government teat.
If there was ever a time when the Blacks of this nation should revolt for justice. ...this is the time.
Bt I guess that all those students loans should be counted as reparations.

wages are rising
unless they are rising at the same rate of inflation, then it's not a bright spot

I’m sorry, but are we finally done with the winter of disease and death?
