I know it was discussed earlier, but this is going to be the meme or "we got him now" for the next couple of days. It is ridiculous. One poster found that the study might have been done at a state nursing home and not VA hospital, regardless, the media finds one story and forgets about all the encouraging stories.

Here is google at 10:00 pm tonight. smh

Meh....plasma treatment was always going to be the better therapy option until a vaccine.

It's a single retrospective study. The double-blind they did in New York will be more definitive and hopefully larger.

Have they reported that they tried a vaccine on some African kids, and 7 died?

I know, I know... Anecdotal, right?

Unfortunately, the controlled study data for HCQ does not look promising at all.

The press is retarded and doesn’t know how to interpret/critique scientific research.

Nah, it’s looking like remdesivir and the IL-6 inhibitors are what’s gonna end up being the go to drugs for moderate to severe disease. The early data is extremely promising.

I work at a nursing home. Our medical director has been using a cocktail that includes this with great results, especially if given as soon as signs are present. And these are old people. Can I guarantee these people would have still survived without it, no. But F studies, I’m seeing it work.

is the controlled study with inpatient or outpatient therapy?

early observation here told us it does nothing once the patient is sick enough to be admitted but may stave off severe disease

Most people don’t, including most on this board. Don’t forget the French study that started led this whole HCQ craze was effectively fraudulent.

In diseases with low mortality, anecdotal evidence and uncontrolled studies are clinically meaningless because most will get better no matter what you do. It’s why it took such large trials to show the modest benefit of Tamiflu for influenza.

ll because Trump mentioned it.

In all fairness, he didn’t just “mention” it. He ordered a large quantity of it for inventory and his pitch was “what have you go to lose?”. Dr. Oz was behind it and he discussed it’s benefits on numerous talking heads on Fox. It was, of course, always predicated with “in consultation with your Doctor”. I see no issues with reporting the study.

So, in other words, this really shouldn’t be considered a huge news story.

It's impossible for me to trust a "study" that flies in the face of ACTUAL doctor/patient results that have been reported from around the world.

DEEP STATE. The same people who orchestrated the "collusion" hoax, are the same people orchestrating this hysteria, and telling us up is down and down is up. I wish more people would think critically about these things, instead of saying "are you a science denier?". No, I'm a cabal denier.
