The NFL is now thinking about a new idea - keeping teams in the Locker Room during the National Anthem next season. That’s almost as bad as kneeling! When will the highly paid Commissioner finally get tough and smart? This issue is killing your league!.....

How is that as bad as kneeling? It's what college football does and there hasn't been any crying about that

Because his friend Jerry Jones is in a battle royale with Goodell. And I think he thinks, like many do-- that Goodell -wanting what is it 50mil and a jet plane and health care for life-needs to be fired.

NFL denies Jerry Jones' request on Roger Goodell deal, questions 'personal agenda' - CBSSports.com

But then they did make it an issue by allowing it. Practically everyone liked it until a few disgruntled employees don't want it to be an issue any longer, so they take a knee to make it an issue.

Crazy ain't it?

College football didn't do it to hide the people that can't be bothered to stand for the national anthem. Context matters. Divorcing this from context is the only way to obscure what is clearly the point being made.

Now the Trumpkins have to hate college football. Good thing they haven’t been watching in years and this will free up a lot of time to get around to those hobbies they’ve been ignoring. Not to mention the internal struggle about posting on a site dedicated to college football.

Because it is nothing but winning for him. It only strengthens his base. The ones that want him to shut up are the ones that already hate him.

There is no downside for him on this.

Doesn't our military pay the NFL fpr promotional work? Trump the businessman just making sure we get what we're paying for, honoring our military.

It's about respect I believe with Trump considering the flag and what it stands for, not what one kneels for.

Kind of like people recognized you as just another shitty alter? Have you even posted on another board with this alter account, or has every single post you made been on here?

bullshite.

First of all, Trump doesn't need to strengthen his base.

Second, it's not winning him any new converts. He's going to need more than just his base going forward...unless the Dems go completely off the rails and nominate Clinton again. Don't underestimate the impact of Never Hillary voters last year.

If he really wanted a "win" here, the smart move would have been to declare victory and leave it alone. He can claim having helped protect the flag and the anthem from the childish demonstrations of entitled, narcissistic millionaires. Just declare victory and move on.
