Should be adding multiple SCOTUS judges right now
It will be the first things the Dims do if they get the Presidency and Senate and we will be behind the curve once again
I am fairly confident that the vast majority of Republican officeholders would oppose such a blatant power grab, although a very small minority would likely agree with you.
By contrast, I think that a slim majority of Democratic office holders would oppose such a move by their party, with a significantly larger minority advocating the same approach as you.

Now do Clarence Thomas and his lack of questioning and engagement at oral argument
All that does is distract him from formulating his concurring or dissenting opinion on a case.

I hope you're correct, but I'm not sure. If opemed, this might turn out to be another Pandora's box, similar to the suggestions of continous impeachments. If so, given a couple of Presidential changes, the SC chamber could approach the house in size. (I don't believe it will come to this, but as you know there is nothing in the constitution to prevent it from happening.)
