Wow I had no idea that Joe Biden personally saw to it that Ukrainian prosecutor general Victor Shokin was removed from office while the same prosecutor had an active investigation into corruption allegations regarding Joe Biden’s cocaine addicted son Hunter Biden. Joe did this by leveraging United States guarantees of Ukrainian bonds - he admits this much in video recorded public interview. This is corruption and abuse of power by a Vice President that shocks the conscience.

Thankfully, Our wise President and Leader Donald TRUMP has brought these truly important revelations to light or else I may never have learned of these facts of which every American should be aware.

HAIL TRUMP!

I am guessing you get your news from Gateway Pundit, because this is not remotely the entire story.

Baby Biden was not under investigation. The investigation addressed a Ukrainian company for which he served on the board. The US government (acting through Joe Biden) called for Shokin’s removal because Shokin was corrupt. Pretty much every western country was calling for his removal.

There certainly exist valid questions as to whether Biden should have recused himself due to the “appearance of impropriety.”. I personally think he should have done so.

But the notion that the US pushed for Shokin’s removal solely to protect Baby Biden is laughable. Well, it WOULD be laughable, except for the fact that Trump knows you will accept (without question or analysis) his ridiculous version of events.

So it's ok that Biden requested that this guy be fired, but it's not OK that Trump asked that the situation be investigated?

Quite shocking indeed that Joe Biden’s favorite son and confidant Hunter Biden served on the board of this mysterious company, collecting handsome payment to the tune of many, many millions of dollars as well, all while said company was under investigation by Mr. Shulkin’s office. By the way, Hunter Biden was also a known, active cocaine addict and alcoholic during this period. Shocking!

Viktor Shokin had much bigger issues than the corruption case against Mykola Zlochevsky. Almost immediately after he was appointed, he started to cause almost irreparable harm to Ukraine’s legal system.

For starters, he failed to prosecute any prominent members of the Yanukovych regime or anybody in the current government. He constantly blocked reform to Ukraine’s broken legal system. He was in charge of implementing the 2014 law on prosecution which the European Union had asked Ukraine to do for years.

The law aimed to reduce to role of prosecutors who “were absurdly superior to judges in the Soviet legal system that persisted in post-Soviet Ukraine” according to Atlantic Council. It also called for a reevaluation of all prosecutors in order to weed out the more corrupt and incompetent ones. Shokin manipulated the process so that the old system mostly remained the same and minimal, ineffective changes were implemented.

He was the largest obstacle to judicial reform in Ukraine. It wasn’t just Joe Biden calling for his ouster, it was the United States government and the European Union.

Steven Pifer, a career foreign service officer who was ambassador to Ukraine under President Bill Clinton, told Politifact that “”virtually everyone” he knew in the U.S. government and virtually all non-governmental experts on Ukraine “felt that Shokin was not doing his job and should be fired. As far as I can recall, they all concurred with the vice president telling Poroshenko that the U.S. government would not extend the $1 billion loan guarantee to Ukraine until Shokin was removed from office.””

The European Union also called for him to be fired and celebrated his removal. “This decision creates an opportunity to make a fresh start in the prosecutor general’s office. I hope that the new prosecutor general will ensure that [his] office . . . becomes independent from political influence and pressure and enjoys public trust,” said Jan Tombinski, the EU’s envoy to Ukraine, in a statement at the time.

If you don't avoid the appearance of impropriety especially where that apprarance is so very stark as was the case here, then an inference of actual impropriety is not only fair game but also very reasonable.

Oh don't let Hank try to derail you into this s***

Biden's son never even gets that job in the first place if not for his dad

His only qualification for the job was being the vice president's son

The level of stupid one has to pretend to act like what happened here wasn't 100% orchestrated is just embarrassing

Really quite fascinating and I think highly relevant to the American voter that Joe Biden and the corrupt Obama regime used gangster-like tactics of withholding a loan guarantee until the ouster of Mr. Shokin was secured. By the way, I note it is undisputed that Mr. Shokin’s office was engaged in an active investigation of the relevant gas company through which Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, earned many millions of dollars, and which investigation was summarily dropped by his successor. Shocking and highly relevant indeed!

I especially like the argument that all of the other governments were trying to get the guy fired too

No shite. Ya think?

I mean you know the vice president of the most powerful nation in the world has a son who needs the guy gone............

Please link to any world leader outside Russia who criticized Shokin’s removal. If you can find one (which I rather doubt), we can continuemthe discussion.

I agree 100%. Those connected to the powerful and connected get these plum Board seats all the time.

And that point is irrelevant to the question of whether the entire West thought Shokin needed to be removed. See earlier post.
