Why are democrats obsessed with trains! I don’t want to ride a train. I want to drive my car wherever I want, whenever I want.

He wants to build cross country rail system to put airlines out of business.

It's like presenting a rotten stick...and pretending that it's as big an accomplishment as the invention of the wheel.

Someone needs to point out to the cementhead writing Joe's tweets that the railroads were private enterprises built and funded by investors.
The transcontinental line built in the 1860's had a lot of federal funding as there was, at the time, no economic case to be made for it. In fact Union Pacific ended up bankrupt. That project was as much to keep California in the Union as anything.

We should build mega cities over all of our farmland in the Mid West while our population is shrinking like the CCP. They know how to build infrastructure!

Who would stand to gain the most from no more ownership of cars?

Research the closing of Keystone, and what Democratic donor it benefited by closing...one that might be moving the oil by trains..... who has the trains. You’ll understand Politics more

This is the first tweet on his account that I believe Biden himself made. That has to be the dumbest fricking thing I’ve ever heard.

Public trains will put me in contact with large number of people in close quarters. I don’t think that would meet Covid restrictions.

Yeah, see that's the idea, when a real epidemic hits, they could shut us down and isolate easier.

I actually competition would be good. Airlines are more of a oligopoly/cartel right now with pricing and service.
The local airlines in Europe, for example compete with train services and both are v good.
You are correct, but L5 autonomous vehicles will likely make rail obsolete as well.
