The problem isn't the transgender people serving. The problem is the sheer number of able bodied and able minded, highly motivated and principled people it will deter from serving.
Not a chance in hell I would have volunteered to serve and risk being in close proximity barracks/berthing style or my life depending on one of these people.

I don't have a problem with it and as I have said many time before, Anyone who is willing to serve should be allowed to, however, you leave the military with the same sex organs you joined with.
No joining so the tax payers can fund your transition surgery. Because in reality THAT is what transgender's being allowed to join the military and be open about it really is about.
