Today in this country, the top 1% evade an estimated $160 billion in taxes each year.

55 of the most profitable corporations in America pay zero dollars in federal income taxes on $40 billion in profit.

It just isn’t right — and my economic plan will change it.

You notice how every Democrat complains about this but none of them bother to just rewrite the tax rules that they're specifically complaining about?

I mean the House could whip up new tax rules in a few months and pass it. Instead it's all just platitudes.

If they are legal tax shelters, deductions, etc., then it is NOT "evasion".

Taking advantage of legal ways to avoid paying tax is not a crime, no matter how much Dems want it to be.

Then press Congress to change the tax laws, moron.
Stop blaming the rich. They jumpstart and feed the economy with their investment.

Because the GOP would just filibuster it out?

Democrats believe they can combate inflation by taking money out of the economy through taxes. The problem with that thought is corporate taxes simply make inflation worse and wages have more difficulty catching up. Then you have a stagflation problem which is far worse than inflation. At least with inflation you get production. With stagflation you get inflation with limited production.

He's not the one tweeting, he is currently shitting himself somewhere in the corner of a room in the white house.

The person who is tweeting these absurd statements is just as much an idiot but at least are not shitting themselves.

If it had been made a part of reconciliation, it couldn't be filibustered out because that is a straight 50 vote threshold.

Yet this didn't make the reconciliation vote while immigration reform (amnesty) apparently has.

Yep, let’s drive that stuff overseas. Face it Turnip, the folks that run these companies are light years smarter than anyone on your staff.

What does he mean by evade? Like illegal tax fraud or legal loop holes that allow people to pay less in taxes.

When an actual President of a nation makes such a claim, he should have to back it up.

How. HOW are they "evading" it. The word evade has meaning.

Well, that's the dirty little secret.

They've been parroting the "loophole" word for so long, they've stopped dealing in the reality that virtually all of the ACTUAL "loopholes" that used to get bitched about are gone.

even putting aside the obvious economic and tax-law fallacies implicit (and explicit) in this idiotic statement, many if not most of these companies are fascist proxies of the Democrat Party in power.

Why have you continued to empower them, JOE?

Evade is illegal and that is your fault for not enforcing the tax laws.

Avoidance is what the tweet should say and that is every citizens duty. Pay what you owe according to the tax law.

Left is just throwing out class warfare again. Go figure.
