Data proves that healthcare is the issue that drove the Dem vote (the only issue, since the only other one was I HATE ORANGE DEMON!), and the Pre Existing Condition issue in particular is their main selling point. This is it. It's all they got!

The problem is that the Repubs have adopted this and have consistently stated over the years that they will not eliminate this requirement from any bills they would pass. Well, they did until this election. They allowed the Dems to run with the lie that PECs would be gone under Repub rule, and this lie is what won this election for the Dems.

Repubs need to better attack policy position (not pluralized intentionally) of the Dems in the future in order to win. They must counter attack these lies and prevent the Dems from wrongly claiming positions.

The "repeal and replace" bill that John McCain voted down and killed in the senate after the Republican majority house passed it without a single Democrat vote had a provision to require coverage for pre-existing conditions in the "replace" part.

So, I'm not sure how valid your point is.

Unless the point is the Republicans didn't communicate their position on that issue very well.

People are stupid.

Apparently "We need to look at Medicare and Social Security" also apparently means we need to get rid of it.

I agree with this but will also add that the Republicans screwed up by not pushing for marijuana legalization also hurt themselves.

Democrat J.B. Pritzker included legalizing marijuana as part of his platform for Illinois’ gubernatorial election. Pritzker defeated Republican incumbent Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner, who opposed recreational legalization.

Michigan approved it yesterday and it was one of the reasons that James didn't get elected to the Senate because this issue drove voters to the polls.

What about pre-existing conditions? I heard little to no healthcare talk in the news leading up to the election until the last two weeks. That goes for mainstream news.

This is my point exactly. Repubs allowed the Dems to push this lie which apparently won them the house

Well that wasn’t a lie. A very clever exaggeration but one based on truth.

To your point I am not criticizing the Dems for selling the lie. They did what they had to do to win. I’m criticizing the Repubs for not countering the lies.
