Am I suppose to take the position that poor people in other country just starve to death instead?
I’m guessing the Ethiopian kids on those hunger infomercials would go hard for a McDonalds about now.

rarely encounter fat people when I walk from the back of a half empty box store parking lot....or a stair well.
That's because they are paying with their ebt car while their brand new escalade with the shiny rims is sitting in the handicap spot you walk by to get to your car

They get a SNAP card. For nothing. My tax dollars pay for them to buy whatever the hell groceries they want to.
People in America are fat because the drink too much Dr. Pepper and Mt. Dew, eat too much Little Debbie and McDonald's, and watch too much Netflix instead of actually DOING SOMETHING.
Everybody alive in America pretty much knows someone on SNAP. Well, look at their kids. There's a very high likelihood that those kids are fat. Is that because "healthy food is too expensive" even though that SNAP card is free to them? Or could it possibly maybe be because their mom stocks the refrigerator with Coke and stocks the pantry with Zebra Cakes, Oatmeal Creme Cookies and sugary cereal?
One of the biggest problems in modern day America is the continuity of making up excuses to absolve people of responsibility for their own bad actions. There's one mixed kid in particular that I've seen with his friends at the park recently, that is probably 10 years old and maybe 4'6" but I guarantee he weighs well over 220 pounds. Every time I see something like that, my mind automatically thinks that the parent(s) should be charged with child abuse.

There is truth to this. I only like to go shopping every 3 weeks or more. I know I need to go weekly to eat healthier, but I’m not a fatty. I’m in quite good physical shape, but my cholesterol is a little high. Not in the red though.
I’ve really reversed my position on just about everything I put in my body. Just look around. We are all killing ourselves with the food we eat. I invested in an expensive water filter that’s amazing. You actually save a ton of money in the long run if you buy bottled water. I’ve started mapping out meal plans so I know what to get to eat a little healthier.

My 26 y/o daughter looks anorexic compared to pix of her as a healthy 16 y/o.
Lack of money hasn't influenced her diet, but fakey Instagram influencers sure have.

No he doesn’t. Americans are spoiled brats. Oreos aren’t even expensive and are always on sale

People who make poor life decisions also make poor health decisions. More at 7

I changed my mind on this a few years ago. I got behind someone paying with EBT and she was trying to stretch every dollar she had. The kid (about 5) wanted a pack of Oreos and the mom said they couldn’t afford them right now. Buy the damn Oreos. The kid deserves that much joy no matter if his parents are poor.
Bull shite! Don't buy those Oreos because they aren't good food. Getting them to shut a kid up is reinforcing bad choices.
There are healthy ways to give that kid "a little joy."

By far good food is cheaper than bad food. But lazy people have to prepare for consumption mostly. I can cook on a Saturday enough good food for the week that my family enjoys eating for under 100.00. The problem is though who wants to eat the same thing daily. Three Boston Butts , grilled corn spears , green bean salad

I eat a fruit and vegetable based diet with little meat and lots of nutrition. It is much much cheaper than a typical American’s meal plan, or meal lack of plan.
The difference is that eating like I do takes discipline, and more effort than wheeling up to a drive thru.

Cultural decay is part of the problem. We stopped teaching our children how to cook. Government policy is also another issue. The sugar lobby pushed low fat diets. And the corn lobby did just as much damage to us, and our diets.
The plastic in our diets is probably terrible for us. And our drinking water is throughly contaminated.
But even the department of Agriculture is a problem. They created the red delicious apple.

If you're fat, you're not poor. The end.

You can get fit and subside off of a stick of butter, a cup of broccoli and greens/spinach daily.
Mix in a Mexican lunch steak for $5.99 twice a week and done.
The rest is just bougie bullshite.

Looks, that’s not the only reason poor people tend to be overweight. But you are lying if you are saying that healthy food is cheaper

Being hungry is the cheapest thing on earth. They need to learn to be hungry for a little while. It's nothing with quality of food, it's 100% quantity.

Eat would be cheaper to eat three meals a day at Cookout, then it would be to cook for yourself.

Check the grocery cart of someone using an EBT card and it's filled with nothing but shitty food choices.
6lbs of chicken is $12-$15
5lb of potatoes is $4-$6
Some choice of greens to go with that is sub $6.
$30 and it'll split into 15 meal servings.

Fat people using their food stamp card in front of me always have a big bag of chips.
If you check the price per ounce those chips cost more than a nice T-bone steak.
