Lots of interesting nuggets in here.

quote:

Survey conducted December 11 through December 12, 2018. 1,680 likely 2019 General Election voters participated in the survey. Survey-weighted to match expected turnout demographics for the 2019 General Election. Margin of Error is +/-2.4%. Totals do not always equal 100% due to rounding.

Q1: Do you think Louisiana is headed in the right direction or is it on the wrong track?

Right direction: 42%
Wrong track: 43%
Not sure: 15%

Q2: What is your opinion of Donald Trump?

Favorable: 54%
Unfavorable: 38%
No opinion: 8%

Q3: What is your opinion of John Bel Edwards?

Favorable: 46%
Unfavorable: 40%
No opinion: 14%

Q4: What is your opinion of Eddie Rispone?

Favorable: 10%
Unfavorable: 15%
No opinion: 75%

Q5: What is your opinion of Ralph Abraham?

Favorable: 26%
Unfavorable: 15%
No opinion: 59%

Q6: Announced candidates in the 2019 election for Governor of Louisiana are Democrat John Bel Edwards, Republican Eddie Rispone and Republican Ralph Abraham. If the election were held today, for whom would you vote?

John Bel Edwards: 43%
Eddie Rispone: 9%
Ralph Abraham: 31%
Undecided: 17%

Q7: If the 2019 election for Governor of Louisiana were held today, and the candidates were just Democrat John Bel Edwards and Republican Eddie Rispone, for whom would you vote?

John Bel Edwards: 46%
Eddie Rispone: 39%
Undecided: 15%

Q8: If the 2019 election for Governor of Louisiana were held today, and the candidates were just Democrat John Bel Edwards and Republican Ralph Abraham, for whom would you vote?

John Bel Edwards: 44%
Ralph Abraham: 44%
Undecided: 12%

Q10: Are you definitely voting for John Bel Edwards or would you consider voting for another Democratic candidate? [DEMOCRATIC PARTY ID RESPONDENTS ONLY]

Definitely Edwards: 53%
Consider another Democrat: 25%
Not voting for a Democrat: 15%
Not sure: 7%

And here's Abrahams's quote with the poll.

quote:

“Two things are clear from this poll: John Bel Edwards is a one-term governor, and I’m the man who can take him down. I said last week that I intended to win, and I meant it,” Abraham said. “I can’t wait to hit the campaign trail and meet as many folks as possible from across Louisiana.”

Abraham is neck and neck with JBE and he hasn't even started running and advertising himself yet?

JBE is at 40% disapproval and that's pretty damn high.

JBE can't get above 50% against Eddie Rispone and that's a candidate more than 75% of Louisiana knows nothing about?

What happens if Rispone and Abraham refuse to attack and mudsling at each other like Dardenne, Angelle and Vitter did? JBE is going to have to do the dirty work himself attacking them just to have a chance in the runoff.

Oh and 25% of democrats want to vote for another democrat as opposed to the sitting incumbent democrat governor and 15% of democrats aren't voting for a democrat?

It is still ridiculous that LA was so stupid to vote for Edwards over Vitter in the first place.

I agree in spirit but let's be honest here.

Vitter ran a shitty campaign, was lazy as hell and didn't touch JBE until it was too late and he was already in the runoff. I have no respect for any of that.

Sure, Dardenne and Angelle were two backstabbing turncoats that made sure he had no chance to win but Vitter earned the loss himself.

And I say that as someone who sincerely believes that Vitter would've been a very fine governor who would've done good things for this state.

I will never vote for a democrat.
My wife wouldn’t give a democrat a drink of water if they were on fire.
Basically it’s like this, which one supports Trump? That’s the one we are voting for.
I’m not talking support like that POS Graves motherfricker that I pinched my noose and voted for, I’m talking about real support of the new populism based Republican Party that are America First, anti Globalization and anti illegal immigration Trump supporting American Patriots, not a fairy progressive worthless democrat pussy or RINO business roundtable globalist like Graves.

Dude, I don’t live in a trailer, except for my travel trailer at the deer camp occasionally. But frick you anyways.
Carry on count.

Oh, by the way, you live in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge is the fricking hood. St. Amant is by no means as nasty as the BatonRouge trash you live amongst.

Your hate for Garret Graves seems a little bit irrational, do tell us more why you hate him so much?

Is this where you tell us Vitter didn't do anything wrong and didn't contribute at all to his eventual loss?

Any time you lose an election fair and square, you will always have some culpability for that loss.

Vitter lost the election because he didn't convince enough people to vote for him. The only thing he did was make people to want to vote against him and he bears the culpability for that.

Abraham and JBE are going to play that up, and you'll eventually vote for Abraham because he wears your colors, but he's just as much of a milquetoast Republican as Flake and Romney and those guys.

I called his arse and actually talked to him on the phone. He would not commit to backing Trump and the republicans wanting to declassify the findings of the House committees when they wanted to publicize their findings on FISA abuse.
He is more of a Paul Ryan Republican than a Jim Jordan Trump supporter or even a Rand Paul type Libertarian/conservative, which I can support.
