Does anyone else really struggle with this? For example, I’m 100% sure that this mass immigration is going to be the downfall of the west without significant intervention. However on a micro level the thought of turning people away and sending them back to squalor just doesn’t sit right with me as we are all just trying to make the most out of our lives.

Abortion I kinda go the other way, I think in most cases it’s morally reprehensible but it’s hard to deny it’s better for society

Anybody else struggle with this stuff or any other examples

Nope...

Don't struggle... I'm conservative due primarily due to the culture that I grew up in.

Not everyone can live in a paradise like America... there will always be abject poverty and suffering somewhere.

It sucks. But I would imagine you are tired of paying more than your fair share of taxes for these folks to come and put MORE people on Medicaid/welfare and use more tax dollars than they will ever put into it.

Absolutely.

And that’s why there aren’t absolutes.

Denying all refugees is unquestionably bad. Letting all refugees in is unquestionably dangerous.

Denying all abortions is unquestionably bad. Letting everyone have an abortion as a form of birth control is unquestionably immoral.

If we send American servicemen to Syria or North Korea, and lose thousands, is that inherently bad? What if it saved millions? What is the value of a human life? Is it just math? We lose one less than we saved, and that makes it worth it?

This is the kind of discussion I’d never troll over. It’s important and is an area where some understanding can happen.

Like I said politically and practically it’s a terrible thing for America but on a human level it’s hard to swallow

you people simply don't get it. Mass immigration isn't the cause. Immigration is the effect of mass evil such as homosexuality, abortion, idolatry, hatred of God Almighty.

Time after time for 1000s of years God Almighty has given land to people bc of the evil of the inhabitants.

Unlimited immigration will cause America to become just like the places these immigrants left. The ideal solution would be to clean up the messes in their countries and provide aid for them to make their countries more like America. Yeah, this sounds Utopian but look how open borders has affected Europe in such a negative way.

I'm a devout Christian and I don't struggle much with it at all. The primary role of the government is to enforce the law, exact justice, and provide security for its people from their enemies.

In terms of immigration: our country allows immigration and has laws in place to allow people to come here legally while limiting threats to our citizens. This is the way it should be done as the first responsibility for government is to its own citizens.

The allowance of abortion is actually a disregard for the safety for the people of this country. It's an abomination and should not be tolerated.

Your politics will most likely coincide with your values, which typically line up with your religion.

Turning away immigrants from citizenship doesn’t mean you can’t help others in need. Mission trips overseas for example, or sending supplies and medications.

Don’t try to make the role you feel government should play perfectly align with your religious beliefs. You should help those you feel need help directly and not rely on the government to do it. It won’t be as effective and people who want the government to do something else (or who want the government to stay out of something) will undoubtedly get upset.

Unlimited immigration will turn the US into England.

It's a shithole.

There is a reason for the 'Pearly GATES'.

"The poor will be with you ALWAYS" (Good Lord).

Bottom line....Wall..."big beautiful door"...merit-based entry. Just like you do with your home.

That said, we've got serious decay in the virtue of our own Citizenry, inside the Wall. We'll be damn lucky if our "downfall" isn't by our own hands.

You do well to be concerned, RS; means that added with the mercy of Jesus you might not wake up south of the Border in your next life.

I don't at all. The U.S. cannot be the solution for overpopulation in other countries. If Latin American countries can't provide an economy that supports their populations then they need to find ways to reduce those populations. The U.S. is not that solution.

The Pope and liberals be damned, it is not our responsibility to take in, especially illegally, anyone who finds their own country to be unlivable. We have our own problems.
