Former President Donald Trump has actually gained — not lost — political clout since leaving office, a political observer asserted Friday.

Politico reporter Tara Palmeri’s observation runs contrary to the assumptions of many in the Washington D.C. establishment and the mainstream media.

“People don’t want to hear anything against Trump,” Palmeri said during an appearance on MSNBC. “Actually, the more he stays out of the media, the more that he becomes this martyr, this looming figure over the GOP.”

In Wyoming, she added, “A lot of people said they aren’t really Republicans, that, like, they’re for Trump. That’s it … I think the base is getting stronger, truly. I think an impeachment would make him even more powerful — a conviction, is what I mean.”

Oops.

Constantly attacking someone while visibly cutting their ability to respond makes them a martyr. Whodathunkit?

I'm not a Republican, and I support a great deal of Trump's policies.

The way he was treated , illegally ,has me more on his team than before.

Trump won the election.

His policies are far better for America, as a nation, and its citizens, over all.

Go figure...blue collar workers lose their jobs because of the policies explicitly pointed out during the campaign. But, China Virus & stuff.

What no one noticed since he first ran for office is that whenever he is quiet on Twitter, his poll numbers rise. Every.single.time.

Dorsey did him a favor.

The contrast that is apparent to those not blind,

Biden vs. Trump.

Job killing, freedom killing, baby killing.

Yes, the contrast is quite stark.

I truly don’t know how anyone can look themselves in the mirror and say Biden’s policies are better for Americans than Trump’s.

I really hope the Twitter ban does indeed help Trump. Because now the “I like trumps policies but he is mean on Twitter” bullshite can stop.

I agree. Some of his tweets were justified, but still came across as petty. They put his supporters in the position of having to justify his personality before they could even argue his positions.
