anymore? they were never necessary. they were developed as a way to control the elections and keep people corralled from both sides.

Everyone speaks with reverence for the Founding Fathers.

But actually doing what they suggested? Not if it's inconvenient.

Because that’s democracy and we aren’t a democracy

With the extreme amount of tribalism in our country and each party being owned by special interest, neither is out for the best interest of the majority anymore.

You're conflating topics. The two party system sucking doesn't mean we should dump the representative part of our democracy in favor of a direct democracy.

And as stupid as the people in Congress are, the average American is even dumber anyway. I wouldn't give the average American a direct vote on what I would have for breakfast.

As I've said time and time and time again. TWO things could fix most of what is wrong with Congress

1. Term limits - coupled with liftime ban on lobbying after holding office

and

2. A constitutional amendment limiting any new to 5 pages of double spaced print on a regular sized sheet of printer paper.

Number 2 is FAR more important than number 1 to be honest.

According to the liberals, Trump is the second coming of Hitler and he will take over and their will only be one party left if they dont #resist.

It was her turn DAMN IT!!

The parties by name are not at fault - the people in the parties are. Kinda of like guns and the people who use them for nefarious reasons.

well, except that I don't believe formal education makes a person any smarter. More knowledgeable on certain subjects ? Certainly. But as someone who has actually attended an Ivy league college, I can tell you lots of dumb fricks graduated from ivy league colleges.
