Political Alignment of certain states

Texas : Socially/ Fiscally conservative
California: Socially/Fiscally liberal
New York : Socially liberal /Fiscally Conservative ie Nirvana
Louisiana: Socially conservative/ Fiscally liberal.
All states usually fall into one of these 4 categories. Please feel free to comment.
It should be noted that a states alignment may not always match its political spectrum due to factions in that state.

Columbia - fiscally liberal, socially liberal
Midlands (excluding Cola) - fiscally conservative, socially conservative

Tennessee may be the most socially conservative state in the entire union. Fiscally, the state has been governed fairly responsibly since Bredeson and the legislature "fixed" Medicaid.

I know a lot of very conservative California people who are in Dallas to escape liberal California. I think it's wrong to assume that a majority of transplants here are liberal.
ETA: It really surprised me at first, but most of them are more conservative than my southern friends. These guys are all from SoCal fyi.
