When police arrived on the scene of a shooting over the weekend at a bar outside Chicago, witnesses say Jemel Roberson, a 26-year-old security guard who worked there, had already subdued the alleged assailant, pinning him to the ground.

Adam Harris, who was at Manny's Blue Bar in Robbins at the time of the incident on Sunday, told WGN-TV that Roberson was holding "somebody on the ground with his knee in his back, with his gun in his back" when officers from neighboring Midlothian got there early Sunday.

That's when Midlothian Police Chief Daniel Delaney said one of his officers "encountered a subject with a gun" and shot him, according to a statement given to the media.

But the "subject" was Roberson, not the suspect in the bar shooting.

Witnesses say Roberson was wearing his uniform, including a hat emblazoned with the word "security" and was holding a firearm he was licensed to carry.

I'm sure we all agree that this is terrible and tragic. Can we also agree that if the NRA doesn't come out strongly in defense of Roberson (and against the officers in this situation) then it shows what the NRA is actually about?

I don’t care what the NRA has to say about the personal actions of a law enforcement officer. He fricked up and should be fired immediately.

Are you suggesting it’s the NRA’s job to condemn armed police?

So in the end if the NRA supports what the security guard did does this show us all including you what the NRA is all about?

I will, when FL Dems stress the fact that every LEGAL vote cast should be counted.

Why do we care who the NRA supports? If it truly happened like the article says the cop is at fault. I doubt it did though

Does the NRA come out in support of whites who get shot 100% of the time?

If not, then no. We can't "all agree" on your stupid assertion.

What in the hell does the NRA have to do with this?
If a person dies from food poisoning, do you expect the Food Channel to denounce it?

In fairness, he was not some yahoo bar patron. He was a trained and licensed professional, hired to provide security.

Speaking of yahoos, what kind of idiot shoots someone in a venue that has armed guards?

Honestly, I can see how this would happen and, I'd be very interested to know what the training is on the subject because there are armed guards out there who aren't police.

Surely, this isn't the first time police have come upon an armed guard detaining a suspect.

I'm hoping there's a camera involved here.

Is the part where you come out and pretend to care about human life and blame the NRA, an entity designed to preserve life, whilst over looking planned parenthood and the fact that they take em?

You mean what does the most powerful lobbying group in favor of more people having concealed weapons have to do with a police involved shooting with someone who was licensed to have a concealed weapon?

Because they have the money and the power to change major gun policy in this country. I thought that was pretty well known in here.

No jackass. What does the NRA have to do with a cop shooting a security guard?

It would show intellectually consistency. Which would be the against the pattern they have shown in the past, ie Philando Castille.

This is why NFL players are kneeling but you guys think it's about disrespecting the flag and soldiers.
