Texas Hold Em poker is such a beautiful game. Arguably American culture's greatest creation.

Is Bovada not a thing anymore?

It's sketchy and I'd never keep decent money on an unregulated site.

The fact I can't play with players around the world on PokerStars etc is stupid.

i dunno PLO is pretty fun

PLO also removes edge of better players and adds a bit of gamble, so you still get fun players

NLHE has had a marked decrease in complete idiots even in the past 2 years that i started playing again. most of your pure gambler player understand pot odds and even blockers

Ignition is dangerous primarily b/c it's anonymous so impossible to track bots
I prefer anonymous play rather than allowing users to tap into a massive database of tendencies that then becomes functionally a requirement.

Why have a thread about someone the entire political spectrum thinks doesn’t know what she is talking about?

that is the trade off and why i don't mind fricking around on it. i'm using it to get more comfortable with PLO so i'm more confident in live play, primarily. or if i take a break, like i just did, to re-focus my ranges in full ring NLHE

i don't know if i could ever go full bore into using it as a professional outlet, although in general, online poker is kind of dead for that until the full US market gets back online

That game is crazy. I can only play it sober, and even then I'm like "shite, what am I missing here"

Annie's understanding of theory is about as good as anyone, but she was never as successful as some of the "gut" players like Brunson, Ivey, Negraneu or Dwan. There's more to being good than understanding the math and the expected value of every play. There's something those guys do that she doesn't and it's not just math.

David Sklansky wrote the book (literally) on poker theory and mathematics. While a successful player, he was never elite.

no. i should have left up 50 at 2-5. ended up in a big pot and i shouldn't have been with the crazy guy in seat 1 who dumped like 2k a bit later on with TP MK. he's full of shite but i don't sit with enough BBs and i didn't sit with enough mental energy to deal with the swings of a legit crazy person. i'm still rusty too

ranges and things like the strength of your hand is a huge transition for me with PLO (coming in from NLHE as a NIT trying to be better)

I hear you man, the 2-5 plays pretty big. If you don’t wanna buy in big your going to have to Play pretty tight. I was the guy in seat 1 that got slow rolled shortly after the game started by seat 2 Asian guy lol
