Does Putin use an EIN or an ITIN when reporting his payments to Trump?
If he owns a business operating in the US, one would hope so. Otherwise, the IRS would be rather displeased with him. OR with Igor Ivanovich Whatsisnamokov, a hypothetical Russian oligarch operating in his inner circle.

Serious quetsion. If Obama had been business partners with the president of Kenya, would you have considered that information to be important?

Again, Trump is within his legal rights in declining to release his tax returns. But it is disingenuous to claim that the release of such returns could NEVER provide information useful to the electorate.

The Trump lovers’ obsession with Obama is strange. Anyway, here’s a link to Obama 2015 tax return .

Voluntarily handing something over to your loving and protecting family's a whole lot different than voluntarily handing it over to a pack of hyenas. Maybe if they would have played it just a tad bit cooler they'd have been more effective and successful.

anyone who is saying it would provide no information is being silly or ignorant

the issue is scope. it's irrational and illogical that this unwritten rule applies only to the President

The fact that I would find your personal information interesting doesn't give me a right to your personal information

Another argument that just makes no since beyond its (small) rhetorical impact. I am able to understand MOST tax returns obrained in the course of discovery. When I receive an especially complex one, I hand it to my expert tax accounting witness, who explains the complex points to me.

Relevance?

Rachel Maddow, Nanci Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Eric Swallowswell, and the CreepyPorn Lawyer are neither tax experts nor impartial. Yet they would intend to broker that information. Put another way, presumably the IRS has numerous tax experts. Trump's taxes have received consistently close review by the IRS.

Meanwhile all information the OP claims to need, all trump's associations, investments, and affiliations is contained here LINK

I, as an American citizen, should see MY President’s tax returns so that I know who is funding him.

Why is that a controversial position?

The President of the United States of America is a citizen of the United States of America, and like any citizen it is illegal to release his tax returns without his permission. The dude is a multi-billionaire, and it has been proven that there was no collusion between the President, his family, or his campaign and a foreign nation. The better question is why do you want to know who is funding him? Also why so you think he needs funding?

You as a citizen have a right to know what his presidential salary is. And you do.

I'll tell you what his tax return looks like... it's got a bunch of pages for Schedule E and a few for Schedule C, because that's what all real estate tycoon tax returns look like.

There's no line for "Russian Mafia bribes".

Besides, if anyone is "funding" him, it's going to be through 8 different shell companies and you would have no clue by looking at his 1040.

I mean hell there's a lot of personal information I would find interesting if I knew it.

I would find it interesting if you ever had an abortion or paid for your girlfriend or wife to have one. but thank God I'm a decent person and don't think that means I should have mandatory access to all of your medical records.

I could probably type a hundred thousand words of things I would find interesting if I could have that information that I'd still don't think somebody should be compelled to turn over just because they want to run for office

Really? So many reasons but right off the top...he doesn't have to show his damn returns. Freedom is a bitch to some of you haters I know but deal with it. Furthermore, you know good and damn well he won't get a fair shake for anything he has in there and maneuvers that are completely legal will absolutely be twisted in the media and give them fodder for months to come. In other words you and your ilk are just trolling for shite to use against him regardless of the reasons things were done.

Very good point. So we're going with the experts at the IRS heavily eyeing down a player of Trump's status overlooked these dastatdly deeds, but the U.S. Congressional Democrats are going to bring their expertise to bear and break the code?

I mean frankly in terms of understanding the political landscape in this country of voters are really interested and being well-informed they should probably be demanding the tax returns of all major journalists or significant people in journalism organizations.

That would probably be a lot damn more informative and useful across many more candidates and longer-term

Let's publish all public officials tax returns plus the sexual harassment slush fund payments. I am sure all career politicians would endorse this

I'm a CPA, but I don't think looking at someone's tax returns will tell you much of anything without seeing the source docs. Other than income received and deductions taken (which truly doesn't tell you anything at all), what do you think you will see?

Wish we could forget about this bastard, but he keeps coming up in the news... you know, spying on Trump (and others) etc... He inflicted so much damage and broke so many laws, I guess we’ll have to obsess with him until he is behind bars.

You're seriously asking if it would be important that Obama lied in completing his OGE 278e Disclosure Form?

Yes that would be important.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander. I say let's have all politicians show their tax returns.
