because of its impact on the community

A bill headed through Philadelphia City Hall would force businesses to remove bulletproof glass protecting employees inside stores.
Councilwoman Cindy Bass — a Democrat who offered the bill — told WTXF-TV she’s concerned about shoppers’ feelings.
“We want to make sure that there isn’t this sort of indignity, in my opinion, to serving food through a plexiglass only in certain neighborhoods,” Bass told the station.

The owner of Broad Deli said the bulletproof glass in his store was installed after a shooting and that it saved his mother-in-law from a knife attack, WTXF reported.

Mike Choe runs a nonprofit supporting Korean-owned businesses and plans on raising $100,000 to fight the Bass bill, WTXF reported.
Choe told the station that the bill “targets Korean Americans” and will “endanger” them.

Maybe those communities should stop pillaging the few people willing to do locate a business in their shitholes and the glass will disappear. For some reason, I don't see stores with burglar bars and bulletproof glass around Bocage or CCL. I wonder why that might be?
But, in typical Democrat fashion, you have to blame the victim, because God forbid you blame the degenerate thug piece of shite.

How could this bill, if passed, be upheld as constitutional? It's like a city passing a law that says people can't wear the color green or eat BLTs.

localities get a lot of leeway with "public safety" laws, b/c of the very low rational basis review most of these regs fall under
sprinkle in some anti-discrimination policy and they have an insane amount of power

But this isn't a matter of so-called safety laws. If anything, this bill would make the city less safe. This is about an individual's perogative to put up bulletproof glass.
At any rate, this bill is all show. It has almost no chance of becoming law.

Support.
The store owners will leave thus sending the Democrat controlled inner city into further decay with no one to blame but Democrats (but we all know they'll still blame the non-existent Republicans in their districts)

Up next: Ban fences, deadbolt locks, peepholes, and alarm systems.
I find them insulting.

So they only want their dignity when they’re buying alcohol and swisher sweets?
Cindy is one stupid bitch

Liquor stores are pretty much a prime target for armed robberies, they are open late at night and often are found in bad neighborhoods.
They need bullet proof glass more than any other business.

Ders
It sounds like she wants to run these people out because Asians shouldn’t own businesses in the black community. I’ve heard this one before

She thinks the thing causing the indignity is the glass huh
Yeah. Go ahead democrats. Tell me how I'm supposed to be embarrassed for Alabama. Lol

This is one of the most retarded things I have ever heard. People cant protect their own lives because it might hurt someone else's feelings? I wonder if this council woman has a home security system in her home. Did she consider the feelings of others who might see cameras on her house?
