You should be able to shoot criminals as they run away IMO. Don’t get to avoid paying the Piper just because you’re a pussy
All correct, but currently not what the law in Chicago allows, this shooter is going to need a really good lawyer.

If they guy hadn't tried to steal his car, he would still be alive. Breaking the law has consequences.

Is the false idea that "property crime is not an actual crime because insurance covers it" really that prevalent in certain segments of society?
Having insurance on a car is definitely a white culture thing it seems.

I don't think you can shoot someone outside of your house unless it is self defense.

I have to agree that someone shouldn't be shot stealing a car when the car owner is not in danger.
With that said, this type of thing will happen more often as crime continues to run rampant, and the emboldened criminals might start thinking twice.
The cycle will be vicious though.

Why the frick not?
We used to hang horse thieves. Would that be better?

quote:Smart. I'm certain you would fully scan the street for other innocent bystanders, confident in your ability to have no collateral damage. Over a car?
I absolutely would. Mess around and find out.

quote:Depends on the person. I've got probably 3500 live rounds of practice and another 1500 rounds of training and use a laser fire to practice at home with my firearm. I feel pretty confident that I will hit what I shoot at within 35 yards and under.

Let me say it this way...I don't believe that a car is worth a person's life, even a POS, but that calculation is one that should be made by the POS criminal that chooses to steal another man's property, not by the person that is protecting their property.

Good shoot. I vote not guilty.

"He did not have to come out and steal his car", one of the people tired of these fricking worthless thieves, me, told anyone who would listen.
It was not his car. He had absolutely no reason to be anywhere near that car. He is dead because he was a person who did not respect someone else's private property. It is his fault, and his fault alone. He CHOSE to put himself in that position.
Not sorry. frick him. Society is better off without him.
Don't be stupid and try to steal other people's property.
