I haven’t been following the political side of players electing to play overseas. The pga banning Trump and now yahoo sports hit job on Brooks says there’s a little more to the story.

Anybody know?

Yahoo sports ??

The media hates it so much I’ve decided to love it. I’ve yet to watch any though.

I caught some stupid NBC radio sports talk Saturday while driving. They compared the LIV money to “dirty money” like it came from the Mexican cartels or was made off blood diamonds in Africa. Guy was saying he would turn down $150 million. These younger players would be stupid to not bail on PGA and take the up front guaranteed money.

After hearing that I support LIV because the higher up’s are obviously pushing this anti LIV campaign.

Exactly, PGA Tour was the best, was a standard of excellence for the game of golf and a time tested measure of golf greatness. They went political, became a tool for NWO. No longer the champion of the game and the players.

Return to your original mission or perish.

Absolutely anything by Eamon Lynch should be regarded as pure PGA propaganda. This guy specializes in shitting on anyone who doesn't follow his version of " humanity " without rebuttal. Should be employed by Vanity Fair or the Village Voice.

Like everything else it's become a political issue with sides. The media is backing the PGA Tour so you do the math.

The PGA Tour is not bigger than the game of golf.

I watch the Masters. If I remember, I’ll watch The Open. That’s it.

PGA wants to keep their monopoly, I get why.

If the majors (other than the PGA) allow LIV players in, and especially The Masters establish a criteria for invites from it I expect it will thrive.

I like the 54 hole format no cut, and the team aspect. They need to work on the latter a bit.

I think the PGA may have started a fight it can’t win.

Yup anytime the Natl sports media gets in a tizzy like this you can safely take the opposite side.

I was indifferent to it at first but the more the media tries to run down the LIV the more support I have for them.

Besides, it's not etched in stone anywhere that the PGA is entitled to be the only or biggest tour out there. If they are getting competition from someone they need to do something besides bitch about it

I think they got on board with the whole gay parade thing. And they have a lot of BLMish material they advertise for during the broadcast. It's more subtle than the other professional sports leagues, but it's still obnoxious to try to enjoy golf without a message that says I should feel guilty for being a straight white Christian.

The PGA's messaging comes off as a kid throwing a temper tantrum. They've alienated the players getting offers instead of going to them and asking how they can improve their product and what they can do to keep the players (that may have happened behind the scenes). Instead they came out and said that the players going over there aren't good enough to win in the PGA and acted like players chasing the money is a bad thing. If I'm not mistaken, that's why they play the game.

I am curious about the sustainability of the LIV. IMO they haven't poached enough of the top players to make their product more compelling than the PGA. And I haven't seen how I can watch the tournament on normal television although streaming I believe can be done. Haven't really sought it out to watch.

PGA tried taking a hard stance and ban players that went to LIV. That doesn't help their case and I think they now see that they will need to rethink this. They really went after Phil months back and Phil has been unhappy with PGA for awhile.

I understand the Saudi disgust but if you are mad about that, then you have to be mad Formula 1, the US for buying Saudi oil, Biden going to talk with Saudi's, etc.
Formula 1 main sponsor is Aramco, and they hold races in Saudi. It is the hypocrisy of the media that aggravates me.

Reality, the LIV golfers are doing the PGA golfers a tremendous favor. The PGA has already increased purses have some no cut tournaments and no doubt what these LIV guys are doing will increase money to the PGA players in a big way. The LIV golfers will all make a boatload of money and will raise purses for the PGA players. Long-term they may be viewed as heroes.

a little competition never hurt anybody. this will cause the PGA to take a good hard look at itself. maybe there are things they need to change.
