It seems like he wasn't fired. His contract just wasn't renewed.

Did the NFL direct the Panther’s to fire this baw or not? I detest the NFL as much as the next guy but this wasn’t done by the NFL.

At this time, Moreno was not under contract with the Panthers.
So he didn't have a contract with the Panthers, but was using their logo on his personal twitter?
