American Conservative article

quote:

Everyday people go to work every day and get emails about “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” They get demanded to sign on to these, take trainings in these, pay attention to these, hear about these, do these… day after day, week after week. It connects.

Everyday people come home from work every day and hear about “diversity, equity, and inclusion” programs in their kids’ schools, their grandkids’ schools. What did you learn about in school today? How America is racist? Oh… It happens a lot. It connects.

Everyday people go come home from work every day and turn on the TV, or get on the internet, and they see commercials touting diversity, shows with blatant Social Justice themes. People talking on the news about “racism” in everything again and again and again. It connects.

The problem of Critical Social Justice isn’t just a thing off in the universities somewhere in Narnia, and it’s not just some weird kids or activists. It’s at work. It’s at school. It’s at home. It’s in your relaxation and entertainment. People are getting sick of it.

quote:

I haven’t worked in an office environment for a decade, but even in the old days, I watched the pre-SJW version of this stuff just turn the brains of journalists to mush. Robert Conquest’s Second Law of Politics helps explain American journalism: “Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing.” What I saw in my twenty years of working in newsrooms was liberals — even skeptical ones — collapsing in the face of therapeutic progressivism around race, sex, and gender, and other progressive shibboleths. This stuff is kryptonite among journalists, who cannot resist the opportunity to crusade for those they hold to be victims.

quote:

The idea that corporations are in any way conservative is a badly outdated concept. What I hear often from conservatives within corporate environments is how progressive social beliefs are made the law (so to speak) of the workplace by being disguised as therapeutic methods of achieving diversity, inclusion, and equity. As ever, LGBT activists were pioneers in this, conquering elementary and secondary school culture by selling progressive cultural politics as “safety” measures. Middle, upper-middle, and wealthy people who populate these institutions and professions, especially in managerial ranks, quickly absorb this cultish religion, which they then use to bully people who don’t agree — especially both religious people and working-class people who have not been acculturated into these norms via college education — into submission.

quote:

The problem is that right-wing politicians win power when people disgusted by political correctness vote for them, but these things really don’t change. Have the media learned anything from this? Of course not — if anything, the identity-politics leftism has gotten more shrill. Has the Age of Trump caused corporations to ease up on the wokeness, or universities? Hardly! I wish Trump and the GOP would attack institutional wokeness more directly, like, for example, revoking Title IX, or at least greatly modifying it. The Republicans are scared too. Most of them come from the same bourgeois professional backgrounds, and move in the same class circles, as the shrill cultural leftists.

Welcome to the United States Navy. This has also begun to infest our churches.

Smart companies need to reclaim the time and money they’ve been spending on training etc, and boil the message down to something simple delivered during new employee orientation, like “Don’t be an a-hole to others while you’re on the job.”

Exactly

The training tapes are so stupid because they are so obvious and show people exhibiting behaviors not acceptable toward anybody.

Companies are just covering their asses in case of a lawsuit.

But the training quizzes are the best. It always features Juanita, Yusev and Karen while the white dude is the one doing the harassing or the shady business practice.

Considering human nature lends itself to clan culture, diversity goes against our own nature. There is a reason most cultures that immigrated to America immediately established their own sections of town wherever they settled.

A lot of this can be fixed with tort reform.

Every corporation and government entity is afraid of being sued, and then resulting in expensive defense and likely bad PR.

There needs to be penalties for suing and not proving your case. You can sue, but if you lose, you’re responsible for ALL court costs, even the government’s costs, on top of the defense’s costs. If you get caught lying or judged as frivolous, you can even get punitive penalties. And if you can’t afford them you go to jail.

Right now, if you sue and lose or get caught lying, nothing happens. The defendant can counter-sue, but then it’s just more cost and they have to re-try the entire case.

There needs to be risk from the onset so there is an immediate deterrence.

Also we need significantly more Arbitration Courts. Impartial panels of 3-9 people to hear these types of cases. Many already exist and get used by certain organizations, but it needs to go full mainstream and be bound by law at higher federal levels.

That's because there is no idea more conservative than individual liberty, it is a truth we know in the beating of our hearts from the day we are born.

Populism always devolves into collectivism at the hands of those with the power to rule. Partly because people fear liberty, partly because people are too stupid to cherish it or too lazy to guard it. This applies to every sector of life, not just politics.

Work for the Federal government for a while.

It's ridiculous during Pride and Black History months.

Had an HR lady on our company Yammer page ask if hiring an ethnically diverse workforce was important to the success of our corporation. Nobody responded so she asked again with a second post. A white guy responded with a very professional and reasonable response that hiring the best people qualified for the position regardless of outward appearance is important, but also stated remaining open minded to people with different backgrounds will result in new innovations and solutions.

The HR woman went into a 4 paragraph screed about why diversity is our strengths and how we needed to exclusively focus on hiring more women and ethnically minority candidates.

No one responded

Meh!

Corporate America wants to make money. As the country becomes more diverse there's more money to be made from diversity.

Keep your mouth shut and work hard and good things will happen to you in corporate America or government America.

Why does this seem to only apply to one group and not everyone else in corporate America?

Why can every minority group express their pride in that minority but a majority group can’t express pride in their group?

If the racist boogie man ever ceased to exist, then so would power over people’s hearts and minds, and so as you can plainly see, it will never end. If it ended, then people might learn to get along and trust, and yet that does not serve political power over people to vote like they’re told to vote, out of fear, not principled ideas, but pure fear and loathing.

When I think what kind of person would promote such a concept of division and hatred in mankind, I come down to one individual specifically. Can you guess his name?

You sure have drank the SJW KoolAid! Please tell me what the composition of most Corporate HR Depts? I will tell you that from what I have seen they are composed of 99% liberal minorities. We had a female AA VP of HR tell us last year that by 2020 50% of our promotions will be “diverse”. Not promoting the most qualified individual in a highly technical market. And as a conservative white male that is considered the subject matter expert by my peers I know I will be overlooked just to get to that 50% benchmark!

You’re mistaken. Ralph didn’t drink the KoolAid, he makes the Kool/Aid.
