Some members who the Speaker tapped were considered shoo-ins, including Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), who both had leadership roles during the impeachment inquiry into Trump’s contacts with Ukraine.

Others picked for the high-profile role of managers include Democratic Reps. Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.), Zoe Lofgren (Calif.), Val Demings (Fla.), Sylvia Garcia (Texas), and Jason Crow (Colo.).

"Time has been our friend in all of this," she said, noting that Democrats have "uncovered" new evidence during the delay. LINK

Is the Senate required to here new evidence, or to try the impeachment based on the evidence that has already been entered and the articles were based on?

No requirement. But, might as well consider and reject it. If they refuse to consider it, it'll be fodder for another impeachment vote. Consider it, reject it, and throw it in the dustbin for all time.

Is this not a Senate trial? Doesn’t her authority end with the House?

The Senate should give her the finger and tell her to stay on her side of the building.

She gets to select her rubes to carry forth with the great crusade when it goes before the Senate.

That is a team put together with "diversity" as its driving consideration.

Now, as you imagine that, also imagine the phone call going something like this... 'blah blah blah.' After imagining these things, how can you not vote to remove president Trump from office? It seems pretty clear to me."

She picked them because she thinks it will insulate them against being called as witnesses.

She forgets that precedent has already been broken in Nadler’s own committee about a month ago when committee counsel testified as a witness then turned around later in the day and resumed questioning witnesses.
