House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to ignore a resolution sent to her by West Virginia representative Carol Miller that would allow the last surviving World War II Medal of Honor recipient to lie in honor at the US Capitol.
"As a tribute to the 'Greatest Generation' and to honor the life [of] Woody, I ask you to bring H.Con.Res 7 to the floor immediately to allow Woody to lie in honor at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda." "I urge you to act quickly," she added. "Bestowing this honor to Woody would not only recognize his accomplishments, but would also serve as an important tribute to all of the Medal of Honor recipients and veterans from World War II."

Woody was a straight white man. honoring him would be offensive to the LBGQT community.

The last two are still alive. The Bill is advance planning for when the last eventually dies.
Apparently, the bill is not moving thru Congress quickly enough for some.
