You really are a deceiver, aren’t you? You know good and well that I was talking about recognizing the brotherhood of Christians broadly, and faithful Christians who are nominally part of those denominations, not heretics and those who reject God in favor of their own made up deity.

There are Methodists that have rejected the liberalism on display in the OP, and those Christians are who I was referring to, not every Methodist, Lutheran, etc without exception, as you are trying to imply by quoting me out of context.

If you're asexual, why do you need to do anything with your physical body?

Just leave it be.

I haven't done one of these corrective posts in a long time, but this one is just begging for it.

quote:

A Methodist pastor in New York revealed last week plans to have his genitals mutilated because the 51-year-old suffers from a psychological condition which causes him to identify as asexual (in order to avoid stating whether he is heterosexual, homosexual or bi-sexual).

Rev. Phillip Phaneuf, of North Chili United Methodist Church in Rochester, made the announcement during a Nov. 23 Sunday service. The personal update was delivered from the pulpit while wearing a rainbow stole.

"So I get to announce with joy that I’m getting my dick and balls cut off, the balls will be thrown away while the dick will be hollowed out and the remaining skin sheath will be stuffed into a doctor-created wound between my legs," Phaneuf said. "I’m affirming to all of you that I am suffering from a mental and emotional trauma which causes me to paradoxically preach that God doesn't make mistakes while also thinking He put me in the wrong body. The best way to put this is that I’m making up some rhetorical gobbledygook in order to justify not treating the symptoms of my illness instead of the root cause. This is a process, and it may be shocking for some as to what this all means."

Phaneuf added that the pastor’s sexuality is some made-up term to make himself and others who suffer similar delusions of Otherness feel like their condition is physical instead of mental so that they can "quick-fix" it with drugs and surgery rather than therapy.

Fixed.

Yes, he is a jehovahs witness who has been consistently trying to spread doubt about Christianity to people while leaving bread crumbs that lead consistently to watchtower websites.

So much of what he says is a lie and an act.

This is his version of door to door.

The Baptists turned out to be prophetic by not ever realigning with the northern churches after the civil war. Unlike the Methodists did in 1939.

So if I put a pop-tart in the microwave and use the popcorn setting, I will get popcorn instead of steamy pop-tart? I'm confused......

A homosexual will have to lie during his or her interview in order to be admitted to the clergy or "nun-hood". During the interview, it is made clear that those with bi-sexual or homosexual proclivities are not allowed.

But let’s be serious Champagne. Somewhere between 25% and 50% of Catholic clergy are gay. The role is attractive to gay men who wish they weren’t gay and (attempting to) be celibate is their way to try to stay in God’s grace. And a (minority) portion of them are child predators that the church has historically harbored and shielded from justice. The greatest predictor of the future is the past.

Think about it. What kind of normal person would want to be celibate, never have sex with a woman (or women ) and never have children or a family? That’s the person that becomes a priest.

No, I was implying that you are gay, with your hugging and kissing comment about a group that is probably 50% male.

It was a joke. Relax, Foo. Jesus Christ.

Let me give you some bread crumbs to a website (well actually a podcast) that is informative, truthful, interesting, and entertaining. It’s called Dragons in Genesis. Here’s an excerpt, talking about what Paul actually wrote about Jesus in his seven undisputed epistles:
quote:

Paul tells us that the Messiah was a celestial being who existed before Adam and refused to exalt himself as Adam attempted to do. He instead abased himself by taking on a body of flesh, which was crafted from sperm that had been taken from King David. In this fleshly body, he had no magical powers or miracle working abilities.

He then descended from heaven and in this mortal disguise was unrecognizable and was killed by a group of angels known as Archons. His blood was sprinkled out to purify creation, and he achieved victory over death. Once his task was complete, he was resurrected through the power of his father, the Most High God, who elevated him to the highest heaven and seated him at God's right hand on his own throne.

This divine figure was then named Jesus, and subsequently appeared to Peter in a vision, and later James and other apostles, and eventually to Paul himself. All of this could be found in Jewish scriptures, and this is how everyone knew of Jesus, from hidden messages in Scripture and from divine revelation.

I don’t think the Watchtower would approve.

I guess you would know, though you people are always liars.

Step 1 is to instill doubt, which you attempt to do with ludicrous statements. No you people dont care one bit if it disagrees with your own theology.

Step 2 is to then bread crumb people towards your cult.

Of course you are going to say this, your job is step 1.

Your entire response is an admission.

“The blind leading the blind; and both go into the ditch”. That poor person is so conflicted and confused that they have zero personal or spiritual power to lead other people to the light of truth. I guess afflicted people find their place under the sun and do their best to bear it.

This is more insightful than most of us know. People smarter than me often believe, these pastors 'supporting' LGBQRST rights do so because they have family members, who are homosexual, lesbian, trans.

Anecdotally, this fits. I've known several with sons and daughters, adult and youth who have fit in this category. Their love for their family member, and desire not for them to be condemned, is the reason for their adoption of progressive policy/ theology in the church.

As RCDfan1950 points out, the blind have 'blinded' church leadership -- who then leads everyone to the ditch, or into damnation.

Methodists arose out of the Church of England, which closed all of the Catholic monasteries and churches and put the priests to death.

But if it suits you today to cope by saying that the Methodist Religion is just like the Catholic, then, I respect that. It's absolutely wrong, but, I respect your right to have your opinion.
