Parents Of Nashville School Shooter Want To Give Rights To Manifesto To Victims’ Parents

This is a tough one for me. On one hand, the parents are the most affected and they deserve a voice in this. However, if we start picking and choosing which documents get released, it’s a slippery slope for future (and similar) cases.
You know, just like the Congressional slush fund where we don’t know squat bc the little man peasant isn’t worthy.

The parents of the shooter are acting in good faith to make an act of contrition by giving to the victims' parents the right to control these documents.

Every incident like this should have everything released. If it shows society is failing we need to see it to actually progress away from this crap. Until then itl keep happening. Especially kids with mental health issues and on scripts.

It doesn’t work that way. Murder is a crime against the citizenry not just against the parents of victims. Those parents don’t get to say “we decided to drop the charges”

Sounds self-interested and their best ploy to not have their psycho's manifesto released. How does this work, if all the parents of the deceased own it? Can one release it on his/her own, or can one block it?

This doesn't have anything to do with charges and it's a combination of laws regulating evidence release/FOIA and IP law.
Like, the LEO may be forced to release it, but anyone who posts it online may get sued for violations of the IP.

I know this won’t be popular, but everything I have heard and read concerning this makes me think that the child killers parents were actually good decent people.
This trans crap is infecting good kids. I know a family dealing with this that are church going/Sunday school teaching people. Daughter woke up one day and said she was trans. No transition or anything, but they are fighting it.
The Nashville shooter didn’t transition until her mid 20s.

Police departments across the country need the manifesto in order to profile similar individuals in their community.
It also allows other jurisdictions a chance to investigate a link to other potential suspects that share the same opinions as the deceased shooter.
