Pandemic hypothetical

Let's say the China flu fades away in late 2021/early 2022, and "normal" life resumes for the next few years. Then some time in 2030 some new strain of something pops up and govt officials want to lock everyone down again.
Knowing what we know now, will there be greater resistance next go-round? People reluctantly gave up a lot of liberties when "two weeks to flatten the curve" seemed like a small sacrifice. Here we are 13 months later, and a lot of people feel taken advantage of.
But there are also a lot of coronabro & broettes who would celebrate news of a possible new pandemic. Would the will to fight them next time from the outset be stronger? Would it be enough to prevail?

We have the memory of goldfish. Unless MSM changes, we'll go thru all the bullshite we just went through.

A) This pandemic is statistically no longer a pandemic.
B) I believe there will be greater resistance but by a smaller faction of people. The left has trimmed the edges of liberty for years, but are taking big chunks at a time now. Too many of our fellow citizens will be conditioned to comply and those who resist will be seen as radical.

Odds of them letting this one go before the mid-terms are likely slim to none. Most can fill in the reasons why that would be critical to the end game without any help.
Their biggest issue would be getting states like TX and FL that have 'opened' to fall back in line, so they will use businesses and such to apply pressure.

Yeah, they're definitely not gonna tell us to get back to normal. Individuals and localities will have to do that on their own.

No. Too many people brainwashed by media and academia. Too many people willing to give up their freedom for a small stimulus check.
