This affair began in 1948 with BenGurion's military overthrow of Western Palestine followed by brutal ethnic cleansing. Half a century ago the Arab world made their bed in two failed attempts to retaliate and obliterate Israel. They lost the 6-day war. They tried again 6yrs later in the Yom Kippur War. They lost again. To the victor go the spoils. So in each instance Israel gained territory.

In self-interest, Egypt, Syria and other ME neighbors subsequently abandoned the Palestinian cause. Hussein made peace. Sadat negotiated return of captured Egyptian lands, and Palestinians were left to be their own brokers.

Yasser Arafat had an excellent opportunity to finally come to reasonable terms in 2000. He refused. As was the case then, the Palestinian position continues to envision a complete return to pre-1967 territorial status inclusive of dreams to eliminate Israel altogether. As long as that vision remains, there will be no permanent solution.

By making clear Arafat's old vision is not acceptable as a starting point, Trump's Jerusalem move actually opens the door for a negotiated deal, if and when the Palestinians are ready to come to the table.

This is the sad truth. Mexico does not have any good reason for being a shite hole. Beautiful country with hard working people, ample resources, seaports, etc. The country has been run by narco drug influenced government criminals for decades.

My solution is simple, if Mexicans want the living standards and lifestyle of Americans, which they apparently do considering how many have illegally entered the US, we should deliver that wish right down to Mexico City and inform them that they're now The Republic of Old Mexico. Let them know they're gonna love being under the influence of MAGA.
