It would've been Dylan Roof on steroids. Wouldn't have mattered that the guy basically flipped a coin and decided on the rap concert. Our obsession with racial strife would've gone to a whole new level and plenty of the usual suspects would've poured gas on the fire. I dare say we might've seen some retaliation in parts across the country.

It didn't speculate that at all. If it was a Chance and Lorde show, there's a good possibility that the crowd would be majority white anyway. They're just pointing out that he was maybe around last weekend, meaning that he may not have had a specific target in mind.
