over 1 million New Yorkers are unable to pay for their own food
a case study in what tyrannical government can do to a once thriving economy

The pandemic has led to more than 1 million New Yorkers not being able to buy food for themselves or their families.

Fox 5 NY reported that residents of the Empire State, particularly those who live in New York City, are struggling to survive as the coronavirus crisis continues. People are lining up at soup kitchens and food banks to get what they need. In total, an estimated 1.5 million New Yorkers don't have the money to purchase food.

"We have done disasters before but nothing is even close to what we are doing now," Alexander Rapaport of the Masbia Soup Kitchen Network said.

They shouldn’t look be in a far left state . There is a reason everyone is leaving that state.

Most were choosing to not even pay rent.

How did this happen? Who’s to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I spoke with a gentleman from upstate NY this week. He is for Trump. He talked about how his part of NY was disenfranchised by the city vote from NYC. He railed on and on about their high taxes.

NY state is an example of what would happen if we had no electoral college. NY has a relatively small, highly populated controlling the entire state. They are leeches sucking money out of everyone’s wallet to pay for their huge governments. The same thing would happen to the US if we went to a popular vote.

This is a statewide number and represents roughly 8% of the population. The unemployment rate is over 9% (for reference, FL has been the polar opposite and is still at 7.5%). The poverty rate in NY prior to COVID was 13%. Because NY is the 4th most populace state, the number sounds higher.

If this study was performed in other states, the percentage of population struggling to pay for food in most states would probably similar.
