Love it. Needs to go further but it’s a start.

MAGA

quote:

Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said in a statement on Monday that Trump spoke with Sen. John Cornyn, a Texas Republican, on Friday about a bill he introduced with Sen. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, that aims to strengthen how state and federal governments report offenses that could prohibit people from buying a gun. "While discussions are ongoing and revisions are being considered, the President is supportive of efforts to improve the federal background check system," Shah said.

Improving reporting =/= stricter background checks.

Republican MAGA but in favor of assault weapon ban of the 90s that expired in 2004

That’s right, I actually have a differing position on issues and still call myself a Trump Republican.

Good. I fully expect Trump to make a significant change regarding background checks and making schools safer. I really do. He has just the right amount of "I don't give a frick" attitude to buck the GOP and Left and do what's right. Even if it takes an executive order.

I go both ways with that. I really wouldn't care if that ban comes back but in reality, it wouldn't prevent much, if anything, from happening again. I still say we need to just put our focus on securing schools and other soft targets instead of focusing on guns themselves.

How will the sky screamers spin this negatively against Trump ? It will happen. Trump could ban guns outright and they would bitch.

This is too rational, with too many practical considerations.

Go to Twitter, whip yourself into an frothing emotional frenzy, and then come back with a better idea

Moving forward it does.

For those in circulation enhanced and heightened security is needed at schools malls and movie theaters, just like the airport.
