Maj. Gen. Jo Clyborne
@joclyborne
Why the Army thinks a French Manicure is an “obnoxious” color compared to the civilian world which views it as an understated yet professional look is beyond me. But I have to be in uniform tomorrow, so here we are. It looked nice while it lasted.

Balancing a civilian professional look with the easy of switch in and out of uniform as often as I do and still be compliant can be a challenge.

We're going to get absolutely wrecked by China in any military conflict.

I was blessed in my almost 31 years of service - I had a handful of female superiors and most (just 1 notable exception) were great. Ditto for female subordinate leaders. Just really 1 problem "child" out of the bunch. Certainly, I had a higher ratio of good:bad with females in those categories than I did males.

I didn't have such great luck with female peers, but it wasn't disastrous (and not significantly worse than male peers).

However, make no mistake, under no circumstances would I have followed a female into actual combat. Period. Full stop.

Serious question:

When do our men and women in the military begin wearing all kinds of colorful and bedazzled nails in uniform?

3 years?

A commanding officer on her period could bring our military to a full stop.

I don’t see how one can become a General without having performed in actual combat with valor.

Oh she’s back and she’s angry

Maj. Gen. Jo Clyborne @joclyborne · 21h Thread1/3 1. I'm a women. In the Army. Get over it. 2. I worry & take daily action on a lot of things incl prioritizing our Soldiers & Airmen. 3. I have a professional civilian career I balance w/mil obligations & a lot of God & Country time like 700K other Reserve Component troops

quote:

Thread2/3 4. If you think we'd lose a war b/c women are in the Army or wear nail polish, wake up. Rethink what excluding 51% of the population does to our nat strategy esp when only 1 in 10 are able to serve. Women earned their place rightfully to wear our great nation's uniform.

quote:

Maj. Gen. Jo Clyborne @joclyborne · 21h Thread3/3 5. When leaders are seen as human, face similar daily challenges & are approachable, our troops are more likely to reach out when they're struggling. 6. If you resort to ad hominem attacks & can’t debate fact and reason you've lost the argument and I have no time for you.

At some point you have to question what there is left to fight for.

May as well be a green light to the CCP to go ahead and invade Taiwan. Gone are the days of Patton, MacArthur, and Doolittle.
