Fantastic article by Mark Steyn in Imprimis. Highly recommended.
Mark Steyn: Our Increasingly Unrecognizable Civilization
quote:
Functioning societies, at least since the Peace of Westphalia three centuries ago, have borders. America has no southern border and no plans to get one.
quote:
And if we don’t have open and honest elections, control of our borders, and equality before the law, then we don’t have the conditions for politics or free government.
quote:
It is not at all clear to me that many of America’s conservative politicians understand the seriousness of all this . . . They are completely out of touch.
quote:
Which do you think was the only major economy to grow in 2020? It’s not a hard question. America’s economy shrank 3.5 percent last year. The economies of Germany and Japan shrank almost five percent. France’s, Italy’s, and India’s economies all shrank over eight percent, and the economy of the United Kingdom was down ten percent. China’s economy, on the other hand, grew 2.3 percent in 2020, and first quarter growth for 2021 in China set a new world record—it was up over 18.3 percent. The COVID pandemic has been hugely profitable for China.
quote:
our leaders are urgent about nothing that matters and not in the least bit urgent about things that matter very much.
quote:
And this reminds me of the fact that if you do not have roots, you are not a functioning society.
quote:
I’ll end by pointing out that the Left wins because it seizes language . . . Don’t surrender the language. Reclaim the language.

If anyone doesn’t realize that the next great world war is in our midst, then they have their heads in the sand. This war will be fought along idealogical lines, not geographically.
God help us.
God help us.

I hoped that whoever is controlling EIB these days would have let him be a regular.

It is and it is idiotic that the embiciles are berating and trying to punish the white (non-homosexual) Christian males. Without us, we become Mexico at best and Haiti at worst. I fear for my white children, especially my blonde boys.

That was brilliant, thanks for posting.

The civilizations of the West have allowed their Marxist Intelligentsia to control the reins of destiny. These folks are forcing the West into a phase of world history that I call: Post-Sovereignty Phase.
What I mean is that the 1648 treaty that ended a long European war heralded the Age of Nation-States. We were all still in the Age of Nation-States on New Year's Day, year 2001, the beginning of the 21st Century. These folks in control have very successfully worked to bring the Age of Nation-States to its termination.
We are in a transitional phase of world history, as the notion of national sovereignty is demolished and replaced by Marxism, on the altar of De-Colonization, Anti-Racism and Environmentalism.
The 21st Century will be very interesting to observe. When the 22nd Century commences, I expect that things will not resemble at all what we saw on 1 January 2001. Not at all.
I'm sad about it, but, offer cheers notwithstanding.

It is amazing that you can't bring in Kinder Eggs from Canada, but Covid infected poors from our Southern boarder are given food, shelter, health care, and education.

This quote cannot be overemphasized... I have said for many years that the lefts ability to reshape the conversation rests (almost exclusively) in its ability to use language that is familiar to us be with different meanings and nuances.
It is an insidious hijacking of our culture and way of life.

One of the thoughts that crossed my mind when I read it was I wished every so-called "conservative" congressman would read it.
Heck, I would read it to them if I could.

This is exactly how democrats think. They hate and want to punish their fellow citizens but they wouldn’t dare punish China.
Another big issue that should take our minds off tax cuts is China. I can’t get over the way we in the U.S. have been ordered by our governors and the CDC to punish ourselves by living small, shrunken lives, while the people in China who loosed this pandemic on the world have paid no price for it.
Dr. Fauci has been a federal government bureaucrat since 1968. He’s the J. Edgar Hoover of public health. He talks about the COVID virus as if we’re at war. But he seems to think a country wins a war by taking it out on its own population rather than the enemy, which is what we’ve done.

You can't win with that argument. The West came to be the West because of Christianity, and Christianity isn't racial. I understand the factual bases for your arguments, and I know that it's hard to see how current trends can work out well for whites in the end, but we aren't going to end up anywhere good by going where you are trying to lead us. I know who Jared Taylor is, and I know his arguments. I know the people he would fight against are anti-white and that whites are in existential trouble, but we have to find a good answer, not an evil one.

Stop w/the red state/blue state switch the MSM pulled off
Communists are RED, liberals are PINK (pinko, remember?)
In one fell swoop the left destroyed that, and illustrated how totally in control they are. I say bring it back.

I’ve the same here many times and judging by the lack of responses/up votes (iirc) I’ve gotten I really don’t think enough people appreciate how much control the left takes when they dictate what is approved speech. I’m probably not giving people here enough credit for recognizing this and if I’m not, my apologies.

I’m tired of reading articles of America’s decline, I’m tired of conservative talking heads telling the street level conservatives to keep the faith, we can turn Marxism back without taking it to the streets. My question is, can we turn Marxism back without taking it to the streets?
I’m not so sure, and if that’s the case we need America First leadership to step up.
