There is literally no basis for impeachment. Any Republican who voted yes would be destroyed

Honestly, I would be surprised if all the democrats voted for it. Quite a few Dems in Trump states.

All of the Democrats would vote to convict. The senate does not vote to impeach. That's the House's responsibility.

Impeachment does not go to the senate for a vote. The house votes on that. If the house succeeds with impeachment votes, then it is taken to the senate to try the matter.

Unfortunately, I am a bit fuzzy on the impeachment trial. However, wouldn't Trump get to put on a vigorous defense including all of the information we have now that is damning to the democrats.

I am more firmly of the belief that the screams of "impeachment" were always going to be just that...screams without any real teeth absent something very strong from mueller.
