Opening tattoo/barber shops not as crazy as it sounds

Why were tattoo parlors and hair salons such a big deal? I'm not in either business, but both seem heavily regulated for a community type small business.
They require continuing education, probably heavy on blood borne pathagens and sterilization/disinfection.
Apadting to new regulations would be an easy tasks.
Add to it, that very few people frequent these businesses as compared to home depot.
I feel way safer getting my hair cut than going to Wal-Mart.
All media hype.

It makes absolutely zero sense why my barber shop is closed by I can go get a teeth cleaning

Strange when cutting hair is more dangerous than a dentist putting his hands your mouth for an hour. I wish my dentist could cut hair also.

Gulf shores looks like spring break 99 yet we can’t get a hair cut.

I mean they have to get pretty close to you but just require that you wash your hands and/or have a mask restriction in those types of businesses

No clue,,, same with gyms.
Everyone wear masks and only allow customers in actually in the process of getting haircut, everyone else waits in their cars.

You really don’t understand why gyms closed? LOL
Look I think this is all stupid and everything should fully open back up now, but gyms are germ heaven

Is the reason for the pandemic scare to separate people. Permanently. I heard it discussed on the radio the safe at home included isolating from family members in your home. Half of America is literally scared the virus will kill them all. No chance to recover or some thing. Why is it so slow in reporting recoveries? Is it to maintain the scare?
Hair is always one person at a time. Same with tattoos.

Well politics.... And somethings tells me the community of doctor's has a little more political stroke than the local cosmetology board.

The virus is a respiratory virus... isnt spread by sweat. Limit number of people in like all other businesses. Social distance works the same way in a gym as it does in a Lowe’s/Home Depot.
You’re more likely to get coughed/sneezed on in Walmart than a gym that has 30 people in it. And I’ll trust people who care about their health and workout over the filth that is the average consumer at Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc...

Here’s why it’s not crazy: my body, my choice. I thought Dems supported that?

I find it quite curious at the gym seeing all the health conscious working out sporting heavy metals in the form of tattoos on their bodies and having breaths that reek of periodontal disease so awful that it could make a freight train take a dirt road.
I totally get why they are closed though.

As long as my barber doesn't try to try my nose hair....I should be good,,..right? The subjective reasoning for what should be open and what should be closed is absolute nonsense. If I can walk into Kroger with no restrictions and walk up and down aisles with a few hundred people in the store, why can't I go into a barber shop with 4-5 people waiting to get a haircut,
BTW...called my barber Wednesday just taking a chance...he answered and he and his wife are taking appointments only spacing them out every 15 minutes. Got an appointment scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00. They cut hair for a lot of the guys at Barksdale AFB. If they each roll in 4 customers an hour...they can make up to $100/hour. A lot better than sitting at home and collecting a check from da gubment.

I wonder how many fat elderly people with heart conditions who died from COVID-19 were regular gym goers.

Did we get haircuts in 2009 during H1N1? I think I got a haircut during the last 53 flu seasons? Ill have to double check my journal.

Most do not wipe down machines after they use them. Lots of touching of things for a protracted period.
Lots of huffing and puffing and grunts and what not.

All our dentists have stopped cleanings. Only doing emergency dental work.

Are you an artist? Yeah anybody can open a tattoo shop, but if you can’t draw you won’t have much business.

Not correct. We can now do both essential (emergency) and non essential dental work which includes cleanings. Getting a hygienist to come in without providing her with a costly biohazard suit is difficult or next to impossible.
It seems their professional association has got them so lathered up with fear that they think cleaning teeth on non covid patients is similar to working in a Covid ICU. Going forward, they should have plenty of time to make tik tok videos depicting their hero status.
The only things that are prohibited are cosmetic work like veneers and cosmetic bondings.
