One of Affirmative Action's real life glitches

People of all races have smart people and dumb people
But affirmative action's goal is to hire people based on race, not on qualifications.
I just got "advised" on an issue by a "minority" person on email from a partner company. She is normally not accountable to her job, and she's always got a new excuse as to why nothing she ever "fixes" is really fixed.
Just now she sent me "instructions" to something, and her "instructions" were simply wrong. I found the right way to do it myself. This was/is an issue that she's told me several times was "fixed" by her. But it was never fixed. So by me fixing it myself, that's actually proof that I know more about her company's intranet than she does.
So this morning, her story is that they aren't able to fix those issues anymore, only we can do it, and then she sent the completely wrong instructions.
But if I email her back and tell her she was wrong (which I've done a few times), I'm in danger of being just the grumpy old white guy who has a bad attitude at millenials and "minorities" - whenever I email her and let her know something she did or said was not correct, she does not respond. Simply ignores the email and I guess assumes the problem goes away because she's "not going there."
First off, if I was "a minority", I'd be pissed at being referred to as a minority. I know several "minorities" who are great at their jobs, and I don't consider them "a minority" when I deal with them. I consider them,...a person. A person qualified to do their job. A person I like. A person who is not a fricking fake.
So again, their are smart folks and dumbasses within each race. Affirmative action insures that some dumbasses WILL BE HIRED...ahead of people more qualified than them.
I've had breakfast with this particular young lady. She's adorable as a person. She's attractive. Sweet personality. But when it comes down to actually doing her job, she's a fake.
But I'm wrong if I bring it up. Because I'm a grumpy old white guy.
If anyone thinks identity politics is not an issue in corporate America, they've been in a coma.

While identity politics is running rampant all over the country, if you have actual cause to reprimand your employee, you should be ok.

I'm sure everyone on this board (myself included) who works in a corporate environment has similar stories to tell.
However, if this is anything like the OT, everyone in here owns their own law firm, makes stacks of cash, dates only 10's, and drives the fastest and loudest F250 you ever laid your eyes on.

I'm not allowed to say she's attractive?
I've never said that to her, just saying it here

Last month I read Thomas Sowell's book on Aff Action. He brings up an interesting point. We all realize that less qualified minorities get jobs to meet quotas.
However, suppose the minority is very qualified. Aff Action reduces the minority employee's productivity because he knows that he cannot be fired (since finding another qualified minority would be difficult).
So he works as little as possible... coming in late, leaving early, taking frequent breaks, etc. This creates resentment among co-workers. This is a big problem in our local hospital.

Another byproduct is that people assume minorities are in certain positions because of AA. That's unfair to the people they're trying to "help".

If she is doing it wrong, let her boss and your boss know.
It is not about race any longer. Plenty of dumb people are in IT, we need to get them out or we will all be replaced by Indians.

I’m a minority, I’m a white straight male Christian conservative
And I face discrimination for it on a daily basis

You bring up a good point.
But just to be clear, most AA hires are white women not blacks.
That's not to say they don't qualify, but the metrics primarily benefit white women.
Affirmative Action Disproportionately benefits White Women

It probably has more with her being a woman than a minority

You better have some numbers to back that up

While people of color, individually and as groups, have been helped by affirmative action in the subsequent years, data and studies suggest women — white women in particular — have benefited disproportionately. According to one study, in 1995, 6 million women, the majority of whom were white, had jobs they wouldn’t have otherwise held but for affirmative action.
Another study shows that women made greater gains in employment at companies that do business with the federal government, which are therefore subject to federal affirmative-action requirements, than in other companies — with female employment rising 15.2% at federal contractors but only 2.2% elsewhere. And the women working for federal-contractor companies also held higher positions and were paid better.
Even in the private sector, the advancements of white women eclipse those of people of color. After IBM established its own affirmative-action program, the numbers of women in management positions more than tripled in less than 10 years. Data from subsequent years show that the number of executives of color at IBM also grew, but not nearly at the same rate.

If we're talking STEM fields women in general have a leg up. Non-whites without a doubt have an advantage in STEM fields.

What's the source for that? Who did that study?

Why don't you just treat her like an incompetent person and quit worrying about her minority status and how you may be perceived?

Looks like a social justice propaganda website.
Any "study" that believes anything less than 50-50 male to female representation is a major societal issue is not fit to be given credibility.
They even complain there arent enough women in blue collar jobs. GEE, are they really curious why there arent more female garbage people or more female construction workers?
This stupid idea that all races and sexes have to be equally represented and that means "success" is ridiculous.

This wil get you in trouble more than the other situation. At the most propitious time your innocent breakfasts will be claimed to have been persistent efforts to develop aromantic relationship.
You probably innocently told someone while trying to be complimentary that she is adorable or attractive and has a sweet personality which will hav eyoulabeled as misognystic, paternalistic and open you to harassmetn allegations.
