This country is categorically not, nor has it ever been, a country of white people...whats wrong with that statement?

Oh, I get your point and pretty much agree but the thing is the left wing has been doing this to conservatives for decades now so I'm thinking good for the goose good for the gander.

It's a game they started and I reject any objections they have for me playing it.

That's fair enough, but "eye for an eye" leaves everyone blind. I'd also add that if you asked people from the "left wing," they'd say that people from the "right wing" started it.

It's factually incorrect, but other than that...it's whatever.

So, it appears to you that you think that at some point, this was (or is) a country of white people. So, why would anyone (particularly you) be upset that someone who is not white would want this country to NOT be a country of white people, but a country of all sorts of people? What's wrong with her wanting this to be her country too? Or AOC's country? Or Ted Cruz's country? Or Jay-Z's country? Or Clarence Thomas' country?

It was, that's not debatable.

Why would Omar be upset that it ever was a country of/by/for White people?

That's the nature of politics bud. Barring the need for a temporarily expanded coalition, why would anyone want their country to be divided among "others"?

Nobody really feels that way. The conservatives who virtual signal this are really just pretending we aren't all that different, and that we all basically want the same, compatible things. Deep down, they knows that's false. You can really see it when they talk about Muslims.

Who are these others? Are black people "others?" How about Native Americans? Irish and Italian immigrants, who were once considered "non-white" or at least non-white enough to be discriminated against?

I think you're utterly wrong that people of different colors ultimately want different things. Rep Omar wants this to be her country, too, which is impossible if it is a country of white people, as she is not white.

Mkay. The onus for substantiating your extraordinary claim is on you. I'll be interested in seeing how this pans out.

I'm a little alarmed that you think that human beings, each made in the image of their Creator (if you believe in that sort of thing), with about 0.1% genetic variation, want completely different things based solely on the color of their skin, and that any argument against that is an "extraordinary claim."

I'm fairly certain I can't "prove" my side any more than you can prove your side, but I'll give it a shot, as soon as you tell me who the "others" are. See my post above.

You're being intentionally disingenuous, or you are suffering under a severe misunderstanding about the relevance of "skin color" . My mind is not yet made up.

Oh, missed this part. "others" needs no explanation. Read the messages and choose to respond or not. I'm not going to sit here, chewing on your OMG NAZI SUPREAMIST bait like some naive conservative.

I don't follow. Are your "others" not based on skin color? Just tell me who the "others" are, so I can answer your question. Here - this is the the quote from you that I would like clarified a bit -

It really does. You seem to have said it's not based on skin color (which I used as shorthand for "race" - if you didn't read it that way, my apologies for being unclear), and I'm more than willing to take you at your word, but I'm honestly at a loss for what you mean by "others."

I'll go ahead and answer in good faith, assuming that you'll do the same. In business and personal (and even religious) situations, I tend to rely on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. It's not perfect (it applies less in purely individual circumstances as opposed to large groups of people, for one), but it provides a framework of looking into the purpose behind the actions of people, even when they seem bizarre. I haven't found that it is confined to any particular race of people.

Although I support her overall political standings, this statement was stupid, pointed, ill-advised and definitely used to enflame folks. She knows better and its just sad because she kicks herself in the arse far too many times. She's gonna have to learn to be more savvy and not say false dumb shite like this.

I didn't say that at all

The reason I find humor in defending the quote in the manner it was defended is because the quote would be considered unacceptable if said by anyone who was white

Change her quote to be from a white person and then insert the word Mexican black Asian or whatever other word you want to and ask yourself if the left wouldn't fricking lose its shite.

Be honest. You don't think that she said something false. You're just mad that she said it out loud

You want her to be more dishonest and hide her true intentions
