I want someone to walk in and ask “yes, I’d like to inquire about loans for honkeys”.

Funny thing is they will not be promoting all the foreclosures on the same loans in a year.

Hard to believe that society is just fine with this going on where whites need not apply

Then Blackrock will swoop in a buy the inevitable foreclosures. Diabolical genius.

no problem, just have a wave of white people apply under this policy and then make sure they identify as black

make them live up to their own rules

This has been the plan all along.

All of this is the result of federal and state policies that continually prevent access to financial resources that would help, leaving fewer economic opportunities for Black/Latinx households to fall back on when a crisis hits.

Author fails to list one fed or state policy.

Incredible piece of journalism.

Correct. Racial 'redlining' is simple actuarial tables.
Blacks and whites with the same assets and income default at totally different rates. Blacks much higher and therefore greater risk.
Same reason teenagers have higher car insurance rates than 60 year olds. It's discrimination based on math.

Can you receive the loan without actually meeting someone in person?

1. Do online application and processing.
2. Indicate that you're black and hispanic.
3. Profit bigly.

You fail to see the real issue here! It’s basically saying the white race has plenty of money and there is no such thing as a poor white people.

So obviously wealth gaps are strictly due to racists.

It sure couldn't be other factors. (education, family support, culture, employment, drugs)

So BOA is going to make up for it!

Now check out the wealth gap between the Obamas and some kid from a holler in Appalachia. Oh that doesn't matter.

What are folks going to do when white folks apply for loans to buy houses in these neighborhoods? Complain about "gentrification?"

I guess this is going to have to include an asterisk saying "Whitey need not apply."

African Americans are being shut out of generational wealth building as they tackle rising rent costs and home prices, disproportionate student loan debt, coronavirus economic inequities, and on average, getting married later in life, causing them to delay homeownership and wealth building capabilities.

it's stunning that a journalist can just claim all this without any proof, explanation, analysis, or recourse.

this is the kind of thing that Jordan Peterson is referencing when he says that totalitarianism cant come until everyone is willing to lie or accept lies. the majority of the country would read something like this, and just think "yep, that's true"

The level of stupidity in that statement on OP is stupid. Racism in any form is still racist. Him pointing out racism of another and not supplying the laws prohibiting racism doesn’t change story

And when they default on their loans, Bank of America will turn to the government (white American taxpayers) for bailout.

I'm curious to know the capital behind this. I don't believe for a second BoA is funding this themselves.
