Why?
An exclusive program with a former president is huge—for any network/streaming service.
I can’t imagine any person in the industry would decline that opportunity.
I certainly won’t watch it, but I don’t blame Netflix a bit for working the deal if they can.

This is perfect for Obama. His “shows” won’t be subjected to rating’s pressures or ridicule. The Hollywood elite and press will fall all over themselves touting the greatness of his shows.
The Clintons ran into trouble with their charity/foundation because enough people saw through that sham. Their foundation doesn’t accomplish anything. It’s nothing more than a front to enrich the Clintons.
Far fewer questions will be asked of those investing in a TV production.
