Wait I thought it was a waste of time?

"President Obama set a goal to create 1 million new manufacturing jobs by the end of 2016 and is working to double American exports over the next five years by promoting U.S. goods and removing trade barriers, expanding access to credit, and promoting strong growth."

A politician promising to fight to keep jobs wins elections? That's not exactly a shock.

It'll be interesting to see if Trump can keep his promises.

Obama literally told us more lies than truths.

It is humorous in light of the "manufacturing is going away and never coming back" mantra we hear now.

He accomplished it for Mexico and China.

Ah I see, I should have noticed he didn't specify where.

Most politicians say roughly the same stuff about jobs (although aren't there a bunch of obama quotes floating around about him writing these people off?)

Only a few actually do anything about it.

Progressives pursue political objectives by using words and emotions as a substitute for actions and results. This was probably targeted to the rust belt states, but Obama's business unfriendly agenda and policies were certain to defeat any such initiatives he might have made in that area, which I didn't see many.

His opposition to any economic activity not related to "green" energy, paying back his donors, silly "minimum wage" crap or his Unaffordable Care Act bullshite doomed us to the most toothless, jobless recovery in the history of recoveries.

....now it's a great plan for Trump supporters but terrible for the Obama supporters. Both are being hypocrites if they switched positions.

But if Obama thought it was a good plan, are we now ok validating his perspective or is it different now?

Do you think after four years in office he knew manufacturing jobs are gone forever, or did he just figure it out a the last few months?

I think he knew that he wasn't going to "insource" (his term) all those jobs back. But in politics, the appearance of some plan and good intentions, is often enough to convince the masses.

Like I said yesterday, I don't believe Trump truly cares about the average citizen as much as many do (i.e., if it's at the expense of his self-interests), but if he does a good job, then I don't really care. The performance and outcomes are more important than the intentions.

Funny how Trump has already had some success at this promise, despite not being sworn in yet.

You can keep your doctor.
You can keep your health plan
Deductibles will go down, access to treatment will go up.

No need to go on.

3/4 of all Americans can get health insurance for $75 a month. On the bright side, Obama and company did give us this swishy boy to laugh at.
