The New York Times ?@nytimes
"Allahu akbar" has somehow become inextricably intertwined with terrorism. Its real meaning is far more innocent. LINK

Somehow?

this reminds me of one after of the last islamic terror attacks when the press did the whole "god is great in arabic" line and people tried to spin that into legitimacy. i remember posting pics of islamic terror attacks in non-Arabic areas where allah akbar was yelled

this attack is one of those examples, because this guy wasn't Arabic and the comment literally only makes sense as an islamic terror symbol

As long as murderers and terrorist continue to say it as they are murdering, attacking, bombing innocent people, .. it is NEVER going to be associated with innocence.

If someone says that or yells it out wherever you are... haul arse or get your gun out... cause the shite is on.

@realJamesWoods

Let me yell it out at 35,000 feet while you’re eating Chicken Florentine in first class. Then hope someone knows the Heimlich Maneuver...

unless a white guy says "god is great"

why can't they say, you know what...we're pro choice, but those pro life people aren't crazy radicals, their intentions are well meaning and view point not invalid...but no they reserve that kind of rational and toned down talk for terrorist whackos of the non white variety.

this is ideological subversion...either that or the guy is a complete retard who just emerged from a 20 year coma or he's just a scum bag liar pretending to be perplexed as to how this happened.

i'm starting to think that they're so blinded by ideology they actually believe this shite.

It is "intertwined with terrorism" because it is a phrase used exclusively by adherents of Islam, a murderous, violent religion that calls on its followers to slaughter unbelievers.

i'm kind of scared to admit that you may be right

they truly believe that the link is just right-wing propaganda and their bubble reinforces that

the scary part is that people who are conditioned in such a way are in no way swayed by proof that something they believe is bullshite.

I mean it's the only way to explain how someone could say that. sure he could be a slimy liar, but liars generally have some idea that the more incredible and preposterous your lie is, the less likely people are to believe it.
