Ridiculous that the world stands by, watching this happen. Human decency demands the removal of Maduro, and for the food shipments to begin.

One of Bernie’s vacation homes should be in Venezuela, but it isn’t for some reason???I wonder why?

Well if you vote for socialism.... expect socialism.

Starvation is merely a byproduct. A minor nuance on the way to utopia!

The Venezuelan government has used food to keep the Socialists in power, critics say. Before recent elections, people living in government housing projects said they were visited by representatives of their local Socialist community councils — the government-aligned groups that organize the delivery of boxes of cheap food — and threatened with being cut off if they did not vote for the government.

The latest argument That I have heard, is that Venezuela is actually a far right wing government. And that price fixing, nationalization, and collectivization are actually right wing characteristics, not left wing socialism.

You can't expect anything less from the Group that brought you 31 genders.

What do you mean "was"? You'll still find a collection of the Hollywood left that venerate Chavez, and still support what's going on in Venezuela. Danny Glover is not getting too old for this shite.

Here's an excerpt from Glover's Wikipedia page:
"During the beginning of the 2014 Venezuela Protests, Glover shared his support to Chávez's successor, President Nicolas Maduro, calling members of his government "the stewards" of Venezuela's democracy. Glover also told Venezuelan government supporters to go fight for the sovereignty of Maduro's government."

Washington Examiner article about Hollywood's cheerleaders for Venezuela

These are the people who think Che Guevara was a hero.

Amen. Poverty in America is largely by choice.

Well, it can't be. So there's that. But, I suppose people will always try and fail.

Fun trivia: In Russia, the word for a local council with administrative authority is "soviet".

Only Venezuelans can solve this problem.

When they get sick enough of the shite they'll drag Madero through the streets by his nuts.

Maduro supporters and the military are the only Venezuelans receiving food. Kind of hard to have an insurrection when you're too malnourished to move.

They need help.

I disagree.

The government has those people by the balls.

This crisis just shows how useless the Organization of American States is. Humanitarian intervention in Venezuela is fully warranted.

That's because WE haven't been the one's to implement socialism(paraphrasing) the late Ted Kennedy.

It's horrible but nearly impossible for me to have sympathy for people who inflicted that shite upon themselves.

No one invaded and put them in shackles.

They VOTED the shite in. And hell. When it started to go bad, they VOTED even HARDER to keep it!

Meh.

Not really.

If you held an election there today, any candidate who didn't espouse socialist principles would still get creamed.

THUS is the worst effect of the socialist belief.

When it fails, the people who voted for it don't blame themselves. They blame the people they were stealing from.

My Venezuelan friend said that people with skills and opportunity to leave have been leaving the country for the last 5 or 6 years.
So the people left there now are not only screwed by their govt but they have been abandoned by the only segment of the population that knew what the hell they were doing.
OTOH, those left there are the ones who voted in Chavez. So, they got what they wanted.

Lol at anyone who believes that elections in Venezuela are legitimate. And no, the people can’t rise up and change this. The military receives food and will back Maduro. It will take outside intervention. There are still some hardcore Chavenistas there but those numbers are shrinking by the day.
