NYT: Presidential scholars rank Trump last among all Presidents

Unfortunately, the article itself is behind a paywall but I have seen tweets from various people who have read the article (including Nate Silver).
And I 100% agree. No credible historian should ever rank a President's administration before some time has actually passed. When Bush left office in 2009, he was ranked #42 with only James Buchanan considered a worse President. Now he's ranked #35 and climbing.

To be fair here, William Henry Harrison only served about 6 weeks and James Garfield about 6 months. Its still stupid to judge his presidency while its in its infancy.

Yeah, the Scholars are biased. No way Trump is that low with the first year economy numbers. It’s just been a year, but Trump is like top 2 Presidents ever, economically, and has done a decent job with Foreign affairs, Syria, etc..,The country is pretty divided politically, but that doesn’t change facts...

Any historian worth their salt will tell you that you cannot accurately judge a President until he has been out of office for at least 15 to 20 years, to see the long-term fallout/benefits of their policies.

That is what this historian is saying. Trump shouldn't even be on the list. They ranked him last for two distinct reasons:
1) They know it's too early to rank him so they put him at the bottom
2) They put him at the bottom to also make a political statement
