Did I hear that right? No cpr for cardiac arrests?? Surely I heard that wrong???

They’re definitely doing all they can to inflate death numbers and call anything they can a Covid death.

We heard something like that. My wife and I just looked at each other in disbelief.
They may have said: "if they cannot get the heart started" in the field they will not bring them to hospital.
Anxious to read what others heard. It was a quick statement and just like that -poof- it was gone.
ETA-I believe you are correct. They will not continue CPR en route to ER. I could be wrong, and hope I am.

That's how it normally works except in special cases (under 18, hostile scene, etc.)

Fox reported last night that EMTs have been told if they can't get a pulse in the ambulance not to bother coming to the hospitals, because they are so overloaded.

Thanks for the info. Wonder why this is news then?
I work in hospital as clinical pharmacist. Work takes me to ER but I have no knowledge of what happens before we get patients on site.
