No new roads... just tollls on existing roads. Guess it will clear the poor off the roads.

Liberals and Dems have never seen a tax they don’t like or want to raise.

They want to keep the riff-raff out of Manhattan.

Extra fees tend to do that.

A really cool place in Jax with bowling, pool, movie theatre, comedy club, video games, restaurant and bar opened a while back and the riff-raff started taking over and brandishing guns and getting into fights. People wouldn't bring their families because of the downward trend.

They started charging a cover charge that would go toward your bill. Problem solved. The riff raff wouldn't pay to get in.

About the same thing here.

Toll roads piss me off. We pay for roads every time we pump a gallon of gas. The government can find money for every sorry arse project that isn't in their mandate but charges we the people to travel on roads already paid for.

"We need gas taxes to pay for roads."
"We need car registration to pay for roads."
"We need tolls to pay for roads."
"We need SPLOST to pay for roads."

How many times do I have to pay for these roads?

Several smaller sacks with your real money and a big one with fake money as a decoy when you're mugged.

Not exactly the same thing. The establishment in Jax is a private entity and can charge whatever fees they want. The roads in Manhattan are public and we're paid for with taxpayer money. The tolls are essentially a double tax.

I know this will be unpopular (so let the downvotes rain), but this isnt as bad as it seems. I realize this is hard for a lot of people living in the south to realize, but most people in NYC dont have a car and most dont need a car to live here. Honestly there are better ways of getting around without one.

The only caveat to this is commercial vehicles which need access, but these are a fraction of total traffic.

Not every one lives in Manhattan. Is that a reason for the state to tax more?

Used to live in the Catskills and only went to the city when I had to.

nobody cares about the stupid toll. people care that rather than cut their own fricking spending, liberals always raise taxes instead.

I dont recall reading this. Does this apply to areas outside NYC or even Manhattan? I was going off of the OP's description of what Cuomo is proposing.

That's why I said "about" the same thing. I guess achieving the same results would be better.

This. The biggest downfall I can think of is the increase in bus/train/ferry traffic for the bridge and tunnel people. Maybe a slight increase on uber rates?

I would assume this is the lower part of Manhattan.
