NPR-Justin Timberlake "Not right for the moment-Doesn't reflect The Struggle"
From the "white people are white and that's racist" school of Democrat Party Progressive Genius, I bring you this gem from NPR. See if you can spot the casual Progressive racism. And then ponder the many ways Progressives are destroying our culture. And then if you have time, ponder the fact that your tax dollars prop NPR up to be a mouthpiece for Progressive racism: LINK

quote:

As The Pop World Seeks Accountability, Justin Timberlake Seems Lost In The Woods.

Justin Timberlake's entire career and art is based on his ability to be smooth — his ability to be easy, to create music that seduces us with references to the past, with appropriations, with artful mixes, and never quite shows any struggle. But we are living in a moment of struggle, and we want our pop music to also reflect that struggle. And frankly, Timberlake now embodies that phrase so often spoken today: white male privilege. It's just not a good look for 2018. And it's really, in some ways, not his fault — it's just who he is.

but 2018 is a different time. Right now, the feminist reckoning that's taking down popular figures is also making us think about art itself differently. That's how Man of the Woods is being judged. No longer can a star like Justin Timberlake — a white artist who has spent his career connecting with black music and popular culture, a straight male artist who has released countless dance-floor seductions that sometimes veer into pushiness, let's say — expect for people to just accept this point of view. I'm not trying to sound like a radical feminist, I'm just saying that's the tenor of our times. It's got to be super confusing to Timberlake, but it is what it is; this is where we live. We want statements and struggle in our pop music, not just another smooth dance mix.

I know I want more struggle in my pop music. Especially if it non-white-straight-male struggle. I think when people judge why they enjoy pop music, non-white-straight-male struggle would be right at the top. Thank you for elevating the culture yet again, Progressives. You truly are the gift that keeps on giving.

If "struggle" is another word for "cowbell," the author may have a point.

These people are evil.

There are more emails from the lovebirds. We need a new thread. I don't start them.

A moment of struggle? This is the peak of human existence so far. I’ll need Ari Shapiro to elaborate.

This reminds me of a Huffpo movie review of the 1956 classic Forbidden Planet.

The author liked the movie but had to apologize and give the SJW crowd trigger warning of its cultural backwardness.

quote:

There are a few things today’s audience would have to get past, but remember, the film is almost 60 years old and must be viewed in the context of the period in which it was made.

After announcing that we achieved the level of technology required for interstellar space travel, a somber narrator says at the beginning: “And so at last, mankind began the conquest and colonization of deep space.” So humankind’s (“mankind” here) mission is to conquer and colonize? In the 1950s it was viewed this way. Star Trek changes this and proclaims exploration and non-interference as their mission statement, although human foibles could get in the way sometimes. But in Avatar, the conquerors are the bad guys and the lesson is abundantly clear.

The human crew has no diversity whatsoever: sex, race, species, all homogeneously white and young.

Huffpo - Don't remake Forbidden Planet

Timberlake is a former child star. There's like a 90% chance that he was molested at some point. It's ignorant to assume his potential struggle is lesser than others, just because of skintone.

So feminist think for the rest of us?

My Gosh, what happened to some of these women?

They hate being a woman, and they resent men...that is a struggle...

A song about that is blues

I’d rather see Public Enemy get a shot. But to your point Bruno killed it a couple years ago. He is simply the best there is right now.

JT has never been original and I do agree with that larger point the article is making but at the same time there aren’t many solo acts that can pull off that scale of a performance. In that regard JT hit a home run (compared to say, the black eyed peas).

Some ideologues, from both sides, are serious messed up in the head.

Lately, Democrats are showing us all just how many crazy they've got within their mix though, to many! Plus, this crazy-ideological-leftist behavior has been institutionalized the same way racism, religion, and other issues that we find within our past. Humans gonna human, the faces change, the religions change, the country's change, and other factors change throughout our history, but the same crazy "Drink the Kool-aid" behavior rolls on.
